Keith thank you for the jig instructions. Built mine today, although made some minor changes to personalize. Great jig. Looking forward to using it.

Very creative!…Love your Sled and I’ll try to make one like it. Lots of satisfaction o fusing wood that would otherwise go to waste! Your time making the Jig is well worth it.

This video got posted at the AAW site. You discovered the hard way why I never turn bowls with cracks in them any more. They are not worth the effort it takes to fill and sand the cracks. Even a tenon would not have saved that piece. Luckily, you were standing out of the line of fire when your piece failed. The cracks were visible before you started turning. Hope you don't attempt some thing like that again....

For them little toy throw away saws like that, might be ok, I'd not even think about using it on a $125 big boy chainsaw chain..

Your bevel cut was binding because you had the cut off resting on your drum sander. That was not the saw's fault.

Most wasteful way to quarter saw a log. It looks like you lost 60% of your lumber 🤣There are better ways, you know 😮💨

Have you tried with a wider burn nozel like a weed buning torch attachment that can maybe go on a small tank or a large propane tank? Would love to see a DIY of that and how its done. Thank you for sharing your helpful vid.

How can you know you have the right color if you don’t wait 3 minutes then wipe the surplus off. That will be the finish shade.

One f the most entertaining videos I have watched. I love it!!! Hope you make a lot of money off it!!! Great plan also!!! I like it, but the only thing I wish is that you never introduced that LOUD music...bout blew my speakers first time it came on...I already had the volume up near 100% and then WHAMMO it hit me like a ton of bricks...also, if you put something on that little lathe that would have shaken the bench WITHOUT sand too much, it was too big and bulky for the lathe anyway...

I’m so happy I found this video! I did a lot of wood projects with my dad when I was a kid but it’s been about 20 years and I’m doing my first project on my own. I got a can of this because I figured it would save time but then I read some bad reviews online so I was worried. But you make it seem pretty straightforward. Seems like it gives good results even if you don’t follow the directions 😂

Hello Keith, I just wanted to drop a note to thank you, I took my time and was able to make this jig, and tried it out, and it came out perfect, I will use nothing else. 👍👍👍

Does it need two coats for a kitchen table? I really like it but I have sanded it down 3x now bc i used the spray version. I just used the can and much better.

I have this track saw. In my experience the more stable the work surface the easier the cuts go. The saw was not supported and was binding,(also note that the wood was burning). More practice and you will do much better.

How was it making the 45 degree cuts ? Stable ? I see some of the other cheaper track saws like wen not too stable in that angle

Keith how do I Aline to bring into alignment the pins at both end of the woo to be turned. I just inherited my brother nova 3000.

There is an alignment tool you can purchase to make it easy. It's about $35. Nova sells them.

I had the old original barracuda system on a Craftsman chainsaw. It did not get the saw as sharp as hand filed. It didn't stay sharp for a long time because it had a wire Edge which broke off as you worked at the saw. It went through change real fast. I get away with it and went back to filing the change by hand for the remainder of the chainsaws life

well this vid is 6yrs old and I'm posting on it. Excellent operator on the mill. I just got an entry level mill and his is way better for quarter sawing. so far as labor. I'm still on the fence as to the quarter sawing, it's very labor intensive and wastefull(to me) again I'm not against it, just on the fence so far as labor vrs yield. however.. the center boards in the cross or heart of that trunk would probably be crap for splitting(hence the fence that i'm on) Very nice video thanks for posting,.. another like.

Thanks Keith for the video! I built mine today, to your specs with a slight modification. I put dowel pins in my miter slot block and drilled two sets of holes in the base… one for my band saw and one for my table saw. That way I can easily switch between them (I have a Shopsmith).

I was just looking through KZfaq to see what causes this exact accident after hearing about an incident at Woodcraft Supply in Virginia years ago. The guy had a bowl blank come off hit him under his chin, knocking out all of his teeth breaking his jaw and causing him permanent brain damage. The only thing they attributed to was too high of a speed and too small of a Tenon I believe. I still don't see what you did wrong here so I don't know what the take away is. Glad you were okay.
