I don’t usually comment, but this short film has been on my mind for quite a few days- like I LITERALLY can’t stop thinking about it. I’m so in love with the concept, it’s such a fresh take for me and the ending is absolutely adorable. There’s especially something special about the fact that despite only seeing the characters for like 4 minutes, I’m still able to see the complexities of each person and that’s honestly super hard to pull off!! Miv is such an admirable person and I aspire to be someone who can even make a fraction of this gorgeous piece of art 😭😭 I’m sharing this with all my friends!!! And I definitely wanna stick around to see you making it big!!!

This is really cool and I love it! The fluid motions and the metaphors that move with the music are really awesome. This is really impressive for a college project! I have seen hundreds of these calarts/ gobelins type short animations and this one is one of the best simply for the music video aspect. Its just all so creative and really well done. My favorite thing is how you captured the subtle inner emotions of the characters, like how the girl gives the sun plushie a not so playful punch and then stares at it embarrassed of her own feelings. Its just an amazing mashup of good music, fluid animations, great characterizations and its just plain beautiful. Plus this being so long, it must have been serious work! You have serious talent and I cannot wait to see what else you come up with!

I totally get feeling disappointed about missing deadlines, either external or internal, and the perfectionism that (at least for me) can turn into a burgeoning feeling of dread. Saying, "Ok, this is good enough! It's done!" is sometimes hard with that lens, but the fact that you still did it is amazing!! You put in so much love and effort and it shows. Taking time away from intensive projects is so important, so I'm glad you got to do that!

I loove that you posted this! Specially the honesty about not finishing on time! I'm working on my thesis film myself right now, and all I keep thinking is "if those other students can do this in this time frame, I can too" - I hadn't considered that maybe I'm not fully aware of the real timeframe.
