I’m an atheist, but I gotta say: this trio was a f*ing miracle. They give me goosebumps every time. Just otherworldly playing.

Got to know him in the 1970s by mainly listening to the Köln concert which I love very much. However, this performance, I don't really find it very appealing. The rhythmic bass lines are too monotonous, too dominant, almost like heavy beat music, and it's "drowning out" the melody of the song, which is barely presented and which, so to speak, "only manages a couple of times to desperately stick out its head above the water" before "going down for good."
@pascaljeanne8002Ай бұрын

True story. I once returned a cd thinking it was defective only to learn it was Keith making those horrible and inexplicable groans. He is still one of the greatest.

Again, I can't say anything more than what has already been said but this performance of Solar by K.J. is one of the greatest displays of virtuosity I’ve heard on any instrument in my life.

He is absolutely immersed in the moment. Every part of his body is living this piece. The music is hypnotizing him. You can’t imagine the energy it takes to play the piano like this. It must be exhausting.

Musicians, if Keith was accompanying a singer on this classic, would his approach have been very different? Would this overwhelm a singer? Thanks. Love this song.

I heard them perform in this concert hall on this very day. I was still young and may not have understood their true magnificence. Now, 38 years later, I am keenly aware of the greatness of their performance at that time.
