There are going to be two bat detector videos, one coming soon is essentially taking a budget DIY bat detector kit and housing it in a project box, just need a drill. The other one will be more in-depth including creating the PCB etc.

I’ve just seen, you have a planer and a circular saw. With your skills and tools you’ll be making a bat box in less time than the length of this video haha.

Ah I wouldn’t risk their wellbeing for my curiosity :) sadly there are no publicly accessible caves anywhere near me for hundreds of miles, the only bats I’m likely to encounter are this local population. Good point though, I’ll be sure to mention that in my upcoming Bat Detector video, thank you!

Yeah! I read about them. I don't know why they did that after seeing the flop of the BCB, although the scanner is much better, it didn't require you to cut the barcode out of everything, you could just swipe it over, if only the original BCB had that, who knows how much better it would have done! Also having bitmapped graphics instead of just boring numbers probably would have helped, but this was 1991-1993 I guess :)

Haha glad to have reminded you :) I reckon my experience wasn't actually how it was in the rest of the West, but I remember all the kids at school were going on about how cool it was and that they are getting one for Christmas, I already had imagined scenarios where I'd ask my parents to cut out barcodes from boxes and being told no, so although I wanted one I knew I'd never get one. Christmas holidays came and went and in January, NOBODY mentioned their disappointing presents. One kid brought his in, nobody understood it and then it got confiscated by a teacher anyway haha 😂

I used to write music, and I'd pour my heart and soul into the writing, production and everything then share it with my friends on Facebook, somehow thinking everyone would watch my hard work. There's no meme or gif for the face I used to pull watching it max out at 12 views (10 of them probably me checking the link works haha). I think that over the years I've FINALLY come to accept: just because I spent ages doing it doesn't mean I should expect people to endure it 😂

@@ScottMadeAThingTotally agree, and perhaps even more so - don't expect friends and family to be passionate about your passion - spread the news (As you are doing) and you will find your audience. Just annoying when so many channels are... awful... and get millions of views because they "sell out", if that makes sense. Fair play to them! Spoiler alert... It bloody was! But the symptoms were different enough that I didn't think it was. And changing the battery didn't work. But changing the thin BMS board sorted it. Sadly the battery seems to be at about 75% capacity so it's not exactly as good as new. Those exact sized batteries seem quite elusive! Oh, and I got the best cartridge to test the cartridge with.... EEENCOMEEEEEEENG! 🪱
