The Beatles were a phenomena, & so ahead of their time! This riff has been all over the place, but what is less known, is that Michael Jackson did a cover of this song, and was quite good....if you want a listen: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q8iCbMaJvNG8pmw.html

This concert had many bands and was for AIDS research. Freddie died of AIDS a few years after this concert. One of the saddest losses in Rock.

I was 14 when I watched Live Aid at home with my family, it was an intense emotional day because of the cause being so tragic, so difficult to see. The famine was all over the news and the footage was brutal. At school we were making little bracelets and keyrings to sell to raise money, doing sponsored walks and fun runs, anything we could think of to help. But the music was banging and uplifting too so it was a rollercoaster. I’ll never forget when they stopped everything to play some footage of the reason we were all doing this, to Who’s Going To Drive You Home’ by The Cars. Everyone went silent and were in tears. It’s was such a memorable day it’s the only positive about being an old fart, I witnessed Live Aid and grew up with the best music. I grew up listening to Queen and wasn’t surprised when they stole the show here. The Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody at a Green Day gig shows how powerful Queen’s music still is. Loved your reaction.

I heard that a girlfriend gave him a set of white satin sheets. He was in love with her and they separated. Years later, he found her, they got married and lived happily ever after. Don't know if it's true or not but that sounds really NICE! 🥰

Check out Supertramp's "Child of Vision" Live is best. Roger Hodgson is the writer of this song and is playing the keyboard and singing. He wrote most of the songs for Supertramp. This song he wrote when he was around 17, about his boarding school experience, before he joined Supertramp.

It was multiple bands playing for free to help Ethiopia drought. It was simultaneously aired in America ( Philadelphia ) with American bands playing. So no not everyone at wembley were Queen fans.....they were during & after the concert! Plus Queen were added to the list of acts late so we only knew the day before that they would play! Oh how excited i was to learn this...... they stole the show ❤

One of my favorite memories as a teen in '77 was listening to this album on my turntable while reading the liner notes and trying to listen to each instrument. I would listen to each song 8-10 times in row and become entranced. It was such a sweet time. May true music appreciation live forever.

Thanks, Dreezy.. one their most iconic live performances.. everyone was on point.. especially Freddie.. (and no, he had not been diagnosed with AIDS.. but he had a sore throat and was advised not to perform.... still... WFT, right?) Queen was a last-minute addition to the venue.. and it was widely considered that they "stole the show"... appreciate your reaction... (headphones are so key to a Queen listen... lol)

Live Aid lasted for HOURS - we were at home watching it on and off, kinda channel surfing, among the 12 channels we had at the time. LOL! A friend called (our landline) and said "Queen is taking the stage - turn it back on!" We did - and the rest is history! AMAZING! There were tons of great performances, but QUEEN stole the whole damn show!! It was a moment billions of people watching worldwide will never forget.

“This is not rap, this is not hip hop. Just another attempt to make the voices stop.” The dangerous bend symbol refers to the Bourbaki group - they had a symbol for sections of text where things got especially complicated.

If you start with early Queen (73) and go through all of their albums, you'll be amazed at how different their music was and how many later bands loved them and wrote their music to be like them.

He implies. You infer. Kids these days.... This music is the origin of the heavy metal and alternative bands you consider classic rock. Zeppelin started in 1968, and they practically invented a sound no one had ever heard before. Also most of their music is sexual, and not very well concealed. Robert Plant told Johnny Carson once that American music is all very cerebral and comes from above the shoulders, but British music all comes from below the waist. Next, I recommend you listen to Whole Lotta Love, and my favorite, Kashmir. Zeppelin are the Norse gods of metal.

This was a charity concert with all the worlds biggest stars performing. Queen were largely thought to be finished at this point. Freddie had a throat infection that day and doctors advised him not to perform but he went out anyway. The audience was not a 'Queen' audience as there were so many people performing that day. Queen STOLE THE WHOLE SHOW!! It is widely regarded to be the finest live performance or all time. And all this without even a soundcheck before they went on!!
