I feel like I'm one of the few people who physically isolates my fuel mixing and storage area from the rest of the base. It's designed to explode in a controlled manner and be easily repairable. Any section of my main base that contains flammable gas is isolated and designed to fail at pre-planned break points. Also, my alarms go off when volatiles are detected. Intricate system, but it does tend to make the gameplay a bit less exciting haha.

Someone doesn't like to live on the edge like the rest of us. Mine is outside and some of the tanks vent out if it gets too high pressure, but liquids could cause some mayhem.

Not sure if it's been updated since this video but you CAN use the aliased name instead of the screw location. The line on the code will turn red as if there's an error, but it does work.

I just recently found your videos, and am watching your Mars playthrough. Very interesting stuff, and I'm learning a lot from your usage of channels, which have been a mystery to me so far. I hope you get back to doing more for your Mars base!

I've stolen your setup with the double furnace directly after the centrifuge. It works like a charm and is damn effective. Dunno why sometimes the second sorter misses the coal ores and send them in the second furnace. Never the uranium or the cobalt, just the coal, and not every time...
@radubrezeanu51443 ай бұрын
Hmmm... those chips can also be inserted in some other devices besides IC housings.Is there a way to make this work there too? Like using db:0 from an atmosferics unit and such? My attempts at it failed and I'm not sure it's my failure or the feature is just documented way too badly.

You mentioned the printer not stopping while you were out mining forcing you to go back. If you click on the arrow to change the recipe after starting the print, it will automatically stop after it completes that job.

Was having trouble with the request logic script in your workshop using dial and button. After a request the script was sticking at line 44 "j Ontheway" I found that in line 43 register r2 should be register r3 "beq r3 1 start. After changing to r3 working without issues. Great playthgough on mars i really like how you are utilizing logic channels and such. not a lot of documetation out there for its use and you are providing great content. Thank You

I enjoy your setups they are unique and I learn by following your installs. I seem to be having a small minor issue after performing a Manual Ingot request, my display hash and dial freeze up until I reset the ICHousing. Any helpful ideas on the cause? It is built the same as yours. The only unusual data I see is line 38 "s d3:1 Channel0 sp" <<<<<note the stack index "sp" is in red letters and yours was as well , but yours worked fine. Been racking my brain on this one. I know it is something simple and it is always the simple things we overlook All fixed...........Was simple as wrong output chute selected. All fixed. Its always the simplest things

Instead of using the hash memory you could write the hash to the IC housing and read that with the console. Saves some space and resources.

The way i do my cooling on mars is hook some pasive vents up in the inside. Still have the digital valve or a pid controled pump +one way valve to control it and radiators on the outside. No need for fancy filling of the cooling loop.

After watching (and playing) loads of Stationeers; the phrase "need more cables" is a common theme... (that and chutes/pipes, there's never enough in your inventory.)
@samuraidriver4x46 ай бұрын
I always setup a vending machine and printers to automate cable, pipes and steel frames + sheets asap. Even if I have to feed ingots manually it's so handy to have a stockpile.
@peterward28757 ай бұрын
In my slightly repetitive critiques of your coding. And repeating also that if it works (and you aren't running out of lines either), it can stay. You're doing a lot of repetitive "yield and then set the memory to the hash for a coffee cup". That can be moved to a named line, containing those two lines, then a jump back to the main loop or start label you use. Four lines of code (the label the two things you're doing repeatedly, and the jump back) replace one of two lines repeated 6 times or so. (Copper/Iron/Lead/Silver/Gold/Silicon/Steel/Nickel/Cobalt/Coal all the vending machines). In their place you put one line jump command to the named "function". The only real argument against doing it your way is that if you need to change the "placeholder" hash with something else; editing it in each part is a pain. Better that it's only in one place.

Catching up to this series a few weeks late... May be changed in a later video or you might not have enough room in the program. (And like my last comment, if it works, it's not a big deal.) You can also alias the registers that are going to hold a specific value. For instance r1 and r2 holding the counts of coal/iron could be setup with 2 lines "alias r1 CoalCount" and "alias r2 IronCount". Makes the code more readable later instead of trying to recall what r1 is supposed to store. Looking at the code around 19:00, you're also expecting without checking, that the stack of coal or iron is a full 50 stack. Might be reliable for the first set of materials being sent out of the gas centrifuge, but towards the tail end you're going to get partial stacks of either. You probably catch it in a later video: the iron "function" is adding six per stack to the counter, not 1.

You can use the stacker's dial to control the quantity. Likely similar code, asking the printer for it's export count, and comparing to the setting on the stacker. Saves a part...

Thanks for taking the time to make these!

Thanks for this series, it's great. I think you made a mistake on the furnace code by copying the number for iron ore where you meant to put the one for steel ore for the recipe. You were explaining stuff at the time, which is probably why it happened.
