Love it. I cut my teeth on Gardner 180 ERF's running out of Cornwall wit Richards and Osborne, hauling china clay, and ooccasionally was let loos on a 220 Cummins Atkinson Borderer. Absolute magic! A great video!

We had four of these as 6x4 65t tractor units in Nigeria with a Fuller RTO box. Drove them a few times when we did Saturday equipment moves. Lovely sound and they'd do 100kph. I spent a few years in Newport, Shropshire in the late 70s/early 80s and Vauxhall used to run Detroit engined TMs up to their Ellesmere Port plant on the A41 through the middle of the town. Always remember that sound.

I can remember Pickfords Sheffield having one of those , used to see it around the Doncaster area . The one I do recall though was a Bedford KM Detroit 4x2 with a bulk tipper .....that did sound superb and very rare even then .

No , it was a dark blue tractor unit with the bull bars in a lighter blue , if I remember correctly ( this was about 1977) I think it was from the Midlands area and usually ran with an Atkinson Borderer that had the small sleeper pod grafted on . Funnily enough , the NCB stores at Carcroft were just down the road . It was also around this time R J Norman from Barnsley was running MACK trucks and we used to see these regularly with maybe 5 of them in convoy , now that was a site to see 😊.
