So good to see you sticking with it. Enjoy the journey. The journey to high solo flights was such an amazing time for me. Every flight was an accomplishment, every landing a victory.

We learn from our mistakes, the trick is keeping those mistakes minor as demonstrated when you got a bit off track. Learning is a very narrow window but eventually, and when you're ready, the world of soaring like a bird expands far and wide. You're doing it the right way - low and slow. Congrats.

Someone told me to "punch" the flare. That word worked for me. Push out and up like you mean it. I'm not an instructor so take it for what it is, internet advice.

Subscribed and watching. I'm looking forward to watching you progress. I learned by aerotow and really like the scooter tow thing. I just spent my first summer out gliding around the southwest. Welcome to the addiction, I hope to see you out in the southwest sometime. Blue Sky is on my list. I gotta get a scooter tow rating.

Thanks! I have had so many pilots say the same thing, the first learning was the best thing in their life. I hope that means it doesn't get boring after a while ;) I'm loving it and can't wait to get higher!

Keep at it! We've all been there. Landing actually gets easier once Steve lets you get higher up, because you can pull in for speed and get a proper round out prior to trim and flare. At that low and slow altitude (which is appropriate for now because your current goal is to learn to steer and to control pitch) you're basically flying almost at trim speed and by the time the line stops pulling you're almost immediately at stall speed, and flaring when the glider is already stalled is hard because the nose wants to point down for stall recovery. What you should do is really throw that glider behind you fast and hard with the nose pointed straight to the sky so you can to turn it into a giant air brake. That will stop your forward momentum. When you flare the glider aim to plant that keel into the ground behind you. You got the best school and the best instructor in the East Coast right there in Manquin.

Thanks! Things started to click a lot better the next lesson. Although one of my flares I pushed that so hard I was worried I planted that keel TOO deep in the ground :) But landed 6 out of 8 that day.
