I’m glad you found it! To say both of these verbs in the past tense place كان (kaan) before any of the conjugated forms. This word on its own means “there was”, but putting it with these two verbs indicates past tense. So to say I could've it would be كان فيي (kaan fiye).

How do you say "toe" and "toes"?

Toe is إصبع إجر (usba' ijir) where usba' means finger or digit and ijir means foot. Toes is أصابع إجر (asaabe' ijir) where asaabe' means fingers or digits and ijir means foot.

This video in particularly is very helpful for me. It’s so hard to find common Levantine Arabic vocabulary whether that’s through books or the internet (it’s very inconsistent). So please keep this up!

do you have any recommendations for tv series/dramas in any sort of levantine arabic? i'm not sure which dialect i'm going to learn yet, so i'm open to all! shukran!!

Yes here are some recommendations: One of my favorite shows is “Sara”, it’s about a woman who goes into a comma and has to relearn how to be an adult. It’s an older show so it doesn’t have the best quality. This is the first episode on KZfaq: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f8CKaZeQypbFoqM.html. Two comedies that are hilarious are قلة ذوق و كترة غلبة (ilit zou’ wa ketrit ghlabeh) which translates to “lack of manners and lots of trouble”, here is the KZfaq playlist for it: kzfaq.info/sun/PLSBW2fS7td73uXgPx044dD15G_g_m4Aje&si=ZbA9gcSx0XkT5zoW. The second one is about a Lebanese married couple and its called “Marte W Ana” which translates to “My wife and I”, this is the link to season 1 playlist: kzfaq.info/sun/PLfJ6-FqhP-yMguuiS5aEBvShhfnQwcezP&si=-66cxio6rI8Mq7Bf. There are various popular Syrian dramas that are an older style culturally. One of the most famous one is “Bab Al-Hara” which means “The Neighbourhood’s Gates”. It’s about the daily happenings in a close knit “hara” or neighborhood during the inter-war period under French rule. This is the playlist for season 1: kzfaq.info/sun/PL-DAUrBJxlftTNBWnWYuZxuUlIcZ1bBiz&si=92-T0dFN4tF8lX3O. There are also some great Turkish shows that were popular in the levant area. They were dubbed into Arabic, so probably not the best for lip reading, but they are definitely entertaining. There are also some newer shows available on Netflix which are more likely to have English subtitles options: Alrawabi School for Girls, Jinn, Al Hayba, and Till Death. Yes you’ll hear that in some rural areas of the levant, so “ba’dar” would be pronounced as “bagdar” like the g sound in “great”

My mom learn arabic from youtube and one is from ur channel nd my mom speak preety good arabic now, especially iraqi dialect....❤😊 Bytheway in our malaysia language also call soap as "sabun" Intersting to know the similiarity😊😊

Yes that still makes sense, but it would be more common to hear that sentence with "في". The preposition "عند" will commonly be used for specific locations, so if you're referring to a specific college for instance: المحاضرة عند الجامعة الأمريكية. "The lecture is at the American University".
