I know this is a lot of comments but I don't have anyone to talk to about this series so I'm a little desperate please forgive my incessant commenting. The amount of growth Nora has had as an author is crazy and it's incredibly evident in this book. There's genuine diversity representation without outdated or problematic language. The writing is so much more mature and complete than it was in the first books. Characters are more complete in that John has thoughts and feelings and we actually see him interacting with them whereas Neil was violently pushing down all of his emotions and would say things like "guilt is a useless emotion" or just didnt feel any emotions at all/didnt know what they were. That makes sense for his character but it did leave me feeling a little bit like Neil was a question mark bc i didnt truly understand his mind.

I was estatic when I realized that Jeremy has his own point of view. I love dual POV stories so this made it even better. I also feel like I can't talk about it yet because I need to re-read it a few more times before I can get over the stunning afterglow. I literally cannot critique it because I don't feel anything right now except awe and excitement. But I also can't see myself re-reading it because I skimmed over the part that were the most graphic and drama heavy because I couldn't handle reading them so I don't know how I think I could re-read it??? I'm desensitized to certain lines that Neil has in the original trilogy but I still haven't listened to 3 entire chapters throughout the trilogy because it's so graphic that it scares. 😂😭

I know it's not gonna happen but I would die if Jean and Jeremy would turn into Jean and Jeremy and Kevin. Like I need Kevin to fit in somewhere and if he's not gonna fit with Andrew and Neil then he has to fit with Jean and Jeremy. I refuse to acknowledge that Thea is canon bc its so messed up, so, in her place one of the couples has to make room 😂

I am so glad that people are talking about this book and series. I adore this universe with my whole heart. Can we talk about how the cover is so unbelievably misleading though? 😂 it gives such bright cheery vibes and then you read the book and it's not bright or cheery in the slightest

Nick being the big brother to Imogen that he himself never had in David this Season was my favourite dynamic because it was so beautiful and sad at the same time.

The only thing about this season that I really dont like is the whole foreshadowing for an Alina-villain plot.

I did the same girl i couldn't stop myself and OMGGGGGGGG it was everything!!!! ❤❤❤❤ I cried i laughed i smiled and was just left with a full heart ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ It really hit some serious problems that so many people struggle with daily and i myself have struggled with mental health issues most of my life and have attempted suicide ect. I am so happy that they dove more into Charlie's mental health and eating disorder. I loved so much in this new season that blossoming friendships and relationships but i am worried about what is going on innerly with Issaac. We need season 3 fast!!!!

Can we also just talk about Kit’s smile at 4:03 I am so happy to see Kit not hiding his smile anymore! throughout all the press junkets for season one Kit would always hide his smile and muffle his laughter behind his hand. It’s so beautiful that now Kit has become more confident in himself and is showing off his beautiful smile and letting us hear his adorable laugh! Ugh I love this for him! 🥹💙

Jughead (2015) stars an aroace character and it really made me feel seen when I was in high school 😊it's only 3 volumes, so it'll be quite a fast read and you really don't need to know anything about Archie going into it (but of course it would help)

i just recently got the heartstopper graphic novels for my birthday, (my family is homophobic so i was never able to get them) but my best friend bought me all 4 books for my birthday present. I finished the books that day xD and they are so cute on my shelf

Look when Jesper went "It was dark and when I woke up you were gone" I choked on my tea so hard, my dad came into my room asking if I was ok and I was just flailing my arms, trying to breathe and not die and just yessss. I adored the change, it fits so nicely with the age up characters and the dynamic between the actors and just all the yessssss, all of it. I've rewatched their scenes so many times and everytime I just get happy, giggly and utter serotonin boost. All the actors (especially in the Crow area, I never read the Shadow and Bone books) just nailed it sooooo hard, that I just. Don't care that they made a story mash up (mostly, some stuff I wasn't that big a fan of but mostly I just yes), that they speedran the Shadow and Bone books and Wesper and just mixed the story lines. I adore this show and the characters and if we do not get that Crow Spin off then I will fly to the Netflix HQ and fight whomever I have to to get that, we neeeeeed the Ice Court Heist, they can't just throw the crumbs into our face and then leave us!!!!!

In short for now: All my thoughts!!!! And the cast is absolutely amazing 😍 Their interviews 😍😂😍 I really hope we get a next season but I am also very Netflix-aware😅😥

1000% agree with all of this! If I hadn’t been watching in the late hours of the night with my little niece next door, I would’ve been pausing and screaming the whole time lol. But I really like how you take a variety of things into consideration when giving your reviews, like the show runners, writers, etc. The King of Scars content was so unexpected and I love it! And the little comment Zoya made about Nikolai being a mess and how she could fix him 😂😏 I was like ZOYAAAA lol

Freddy Carter in the ep.4 was 100% book Kaz. After the first season, I genuinely didn't expect this. Wesper blew my mind away, I loved every minute of them in this show! I desperately need the Six of Crows spinoff!

Absolutely true! I loved this season. I'm a huge book fan and my favorite character will forever be Nikolai Lantsov. As a huge nikolai fan , Patrick Gibson did an amazing job. He brought the charm, the wit and the amazing quotes to life. I just saw a reaction where a book reader watched the show and the moment Patrick Gibson came on screen she said ew, she did not give him even a chance. I hate it when people are going in with hatred in minds just cause he was not the fancast they expected. Kanej was amazing and I can't wait for Zoyalai. BTW, I loved your review.

I absolutely agree with you! I had so much fun with this season, even though it was messier I enjoyed it even more than the first. I think that the development of all the characters from season 1 to season 2 makes perfect sense, but it is different from the books. I think that's why so many fans are mad, they're comparing book to show when they should be comparing season to season. I would love to hear your opinion on every episode honestly, you're so much fun to watch but If it's too much I'd be great to hear about your favorite moments this season. (Like that Kanej dream sequence ;) ) Also, I too had to stop and freak out before every Crow scene and then re-watch it 10 times more. The Crooked Kingdom stuff they covered was a surprise but i think it's like 1/3 of the book so they have plenty more to show from SoC and CK. I'll be begging all the gods that we get our Crows spin off cause I know it will be absolutely fantastic.

Fully agree with all of this. The writers had to change the plot line of the crows to make them work with this timeline, and also to make sure we had a bunch of our favorite scenes before what could be a cancellation of the show. I think that they incorporated the Crooked Kingdom storyline as well as they could have, and even though it was rushed, there is still so much more from Crooked Kingdoms they could touch on in future seasons! Like, so so so much more they could touch on. Overall, all the dynamics and characters felt true to themselves and were amazing, and that's all I care about. Freddie's acting? 10/10, could not have asked for a better Kaz Brekker. The writers saw us saying they wrote him as too soft and said "bet" and that's honestly iconic of them.

Christopher’s death messes with the family tree too. Alec’s family is supposedly descended from Christopher and graces children…but he died. So where does that leave us?

I really like the fact that you brought comments on Kaz falling in the water at the beginning, thanks for that. I think all the Crows readers will be connected in spirit and emotion when Kaz back story will be reveal !! The fact they bring the Crows back ground so soon will be an opportunity to dig deeper in there stories and where they want to bring the characters. I suspect it's to create more emotionnal attachement for new fan and pushing higher the viewers numbers for an opening to the spin off or season 3 plot : Ice Court heist. Enjoy watching season 2 everyone ! Imagine if they mixe up panem and the darkling time line....OH MY GODDESS !

I agree with you! Kit was so lovely and deserve more from everybody, i know they were at war but he was inportant, my heart was broken. For me, the story ended with Kit, and I keep thinking that should be Matt the one who should die. This is the book I hate the most, can empathize with Cordelia, in fact I don't like her at all. I just complete the book because I expected Kit funeral.

100% agree about Christopher’s death and the way it was dealt with… I wish at least at the end, after the whole fighting was done, we could have gotten some merry thieves meeting to reminisce about him, even change that scene about leaving things behind and give Christopher the appreciation he deserved

I really wish Christopher had a funeral and we got to see Cecily and Gabriel’s reactions like he died which motivated the other characters but like where was the funeral he deserved 😭😭😭 my poor Christopher he didn’t deserve this ☹️☹️ Cassie also should’ve put more emotion in the scene like I wanted to cry so badly but instead I just put the book down and stared at my wall I was really hoping that when James made a deal with belial he was gonna ask to bring Christopher back Also I noticed how there’s “Cordelia ran” EVERYWHERE. Start of chapter 26 and 35 as well as the end like Ur literally speaking every single thought I have like THOMAS AND ALISTAIR?? ANNA AND ARI??? THE FAILED FIRE MESSAGE EVERYTHING

I don’t think Mathew was truly in love with Cordelia. I think he had so much pain and anger and Cordelia was the one he shared that with so he mistook that connection and friendship for love. At the end I think them being close again shows that he wasn’t in love with her but had forged a strong friendship

Concerning Christophers death😪...AGREE 100%....and I wanted Grace and Christopher to have a happy ending
