As a Clitheroe Resident. I hate that Road going to the tip. I live at the top of Pendle road well out of the way. But my view is the house builders should pay for a new link road.

As someone who supports wadow hall trust this is shocking news. I think it's a pr stunt. I don't understand how GG has done this as I am also supporting foxlease and they have had to submit so much paper about where this money has come from etc.... and proof they are a charity etc.... how can he just rock up and use there bussesnes plan etc.... I am sure if this goes though he won't get support from the GG community to use the place etc...

Excellent broadcast. Have you submitted this to the national tabloids as am sure they will be interested?

Hi, I've tried to get the press to look at it but I think that they are all busy reporting on the election. At any other time, this would make a great story, particularly for local news in the North West. But, I may be wrong and some members of the press might be working on it but cannot get any answers from GGUK. They are very reluctant to comment, I've been trying to get some clarity all week. Interestingly Nigel Evans has removed all of his recent posts on Twitter and Facebook in the last 24 hours so that is either because of the negative backlash, or GG UK have had words. I hope its the latter because the negative feedback was there since the post first appeared and Evans just ignored it for 4 days. Hopefully, somebody at GG UK possesses a functioning brain and realises that this will only attract the wrong headlines and put their ethics, morals and professionalism under the microscope.

I used to work for GGUK and so sad they have done this. They made the activity centres become self sufficient and Waddow did successfully yet they still closed it down

What he's done behind the scenes to Waddow Hall Trust speaks volumes about his character. If the buyer remarkably isnt one of his mates, there should never have been a conversation if he was serious about helping with WHT's bid. Hes definitely out for a new job - needs to somehow supplement his MP wages (and presumably extra as deputy speaker).
@gillchatfield323121 күн бұрын
Hopefully he soon won't have any MPs wages at all.

A man who planted himself at the centre of one bid and then helps another group successfully gain control, with the promise to put him in charge as his reward for his actions. This place will be in private hands before you can say “there’s surely something illegal about all this”.

Great video that just about sums it up. Good work investigating Evans. This should be the final nail in his political coffin.

I lived there for about 6 months in 1973 on Phillip way. They were still building parts of it like the Library and carpark. I was only 9 and my Sister was 7, we had to join the school 'Pinfold' and we both did really well. My teacher was called Mrs Allman. I can't really say anything bad about it as there was a good community and we fitted in, but we were called 'snobs' by some of the other kids, we had come from a really nice part of Chadderton, in Oldham, but our Parents split up and our Mum took us to live with our Grandparents in Hattersley. And prior to that we had lived in a lovely part of Failsworth, so this was an eye opener for my Sister and Me. I remember some of the kids took us to the house where 'The Moors Murderers' killed one of their victims , and everyone was creeping up on each other trying to scare them. That's what kids did then. We learnt to play games like ; British Bulldog, Rallyio, and 'spotlight' (which was basically Hide and seek, but somebody had one of those Ever Ready rubber torches) I had a Purple MK2 Chopper Bike, and it was stolen from outside the house, but I got it back eventually, the Police were brilliant, I can even remember the officer's name 'PC Bradshaw ' he drove a Vauxhall Viva like my Dad! The only other kid's names I can remember were a lad who befriended me called 'Graham Littler' but I think his family moved to Australia, and a girl I fancied called 'Marie Smith' she wore glasses and was very pretty, I can remember a few first names like ; Robert and Tony and there was a kid at school called Paul who sang 'Popeye the Sailor Man Songs' in class to entertain us all. There was also a lad who lived nearby who was always with his loyal dog who was called 'Rebel' ! My favourite TV shows were ;The Persuaders, and The Protectors, and The Comedians! There used to be 'mobile shops' that drove around the estate and even a mobile chippy van, as well as the ice cream van, and pop wagons. Our Dad used to pick us up every Sunday to take us out for the day. At Christmas in 1973 we received our presents and I always did well, I loved Cars and Trains and received lots of different types like 'rev rods' and 'hot wheels', and my Gran bought me a City kit and 'buck' football boots. We were to spend one week with our Dad over Christmas to give Gran and Grandad (and Mum) a break but our Dad 'snatched us back', refused to return us to Hattersley (which he hated) and we continued our childhood in Chadderton which was again 'Idyllic' until our Dad met his 'horrific third wife to be'! I will never forget Hattersley! dx

Great tribute to the heterosexual male's equivalent of Kenny Everett. Just a shame that Steve was a good friend of that POS, Jeremy Vine (according to that POS Jeremy Vine).... We can't ask Steve, so we'll never know if true, or not.
