Growing up as a center, the one thing that always stuck with me was this. “If you cant get the rebound, doesnt mean your opponent has to get it”. (Obviously) What i mean is, swatting the ball to a teammate, or even out of bounds, prevents the opponent from getting a fast break.

Mid range is like controlling the center in chess… Especially when you know who you’re playing with and what they like to do… bringing the attention to me from knocking down a couple good shots opens the entire court up to allow everyone to get some good shots as well
