If the 460 thermostat is like the cleveland thermostat, gutting it or running without one is a bad idea. I overheated my 71s original engine running no t-stat. It actually closes off a port when it opens up and redirects the coolant. And you need to ditch the electric fans and get an engine driven fan. edit : I wrote that before I reached the end of the video.

By the way if you J-B weld a couple nipples in the end of that heater core it makes the absolute best transmission cooler you can ever buy

I was so glad to see you gut the thermostat and not just remove it most people don't understand you need some back pressure so coolant can slow down enough to pull heat out of block but to also get in the heads far enough to keep from having hot spots where the coolant will never reach without some back pressure, as long as you do the wrong thing the right way it's all good. It is what it is, ain't what it should be, never will be what it was! great job

Genuine question and not a critique: Why not bring a garden sprayer with a some feet of vase irrigation tubing and nozzles to have a very simple, analog remote radiator sprayer to help cooling off the rad and allow for a little more milage between stops or at least better thermal management? You are a skilled and knowledgeable guy it would be a 5 min job to do for you. No massive budget to make and install it. Could also be transferred from car to car with just a couple zipties. Really enjoyed the video. Subbed.

The last vehicle I had with vacuum wipers was a 1956 Jeep. They suck. No,literally they suck.

It looks like it was used with a snowplough by the front-end rig. The truck is from the 'rust-belt', where winter weather means lots of road-salt. Seen some really bad examples in those 'just rolled in' videos. Chassis-members looking rather like lace on both sides. I wonder if this POS is as bad or worse than the green GTO. From outside it does not inspire confidence.

Dalton, the LTD II was based on the Torino and Ranchero platform. When I did the 460 swap on mine I used the motor mounts from a 76 T-Bird which was based on the Lincoln Mark of the same era
