Veterans from the Vietnam Era faced a hostile public and employment discrimination against veterans. If any of us had waited for help from the VA or even the American Legion or VFW, we'd still be waiting.

Depend on VA for anything yeah right....14 turndowns for PTSD locked down at least 6 times had the SSP and FBI at my home with the County Sheriff's.... diagnosed by the best VA Hospital psychiatrist.. then on top of that have SLE Lupus and don't even get any care for any of it ...no use for VA A at all now... fixing to turn 65 and it's been only one time this year on video chat cause I don't know what is wrong with me and still don't... evidently my service didn't count for nothing but I'm service connected for scars..... stupid isn't it .. scars but it didn't do anything else like in my mind.. well after the 14 turndown with the idiots working at the VA Hospital when you sign up for VA Disability.... i didn't know what she wanted. Ask me...I said PTSD and that was it she said I'm done .. been thru all the PTSD and Maps classes . Every time I get a doctor who was help he retires... it's ridiculous.. so go for nothing now .. use to get meds but I got some really pathetic doctors and I'd even went as far as to write the Inspector Generals Office.. for abuse and neglect.... heard nothing.. the then I get online and start ready about the hospital and doctors...how some veterans appointment had been changed to make the veteran to miss appointments or just changed for to suit the hospital or doctors and how many veterans were dying cause of it.... it was bad all over the country... Alaska was the best... then... but I was shocked about what I had learned....VAA isn't gonna do anything to help you if you don't know how to do the appeals and with no help I got all the way to the DRO VIA Video chat but I never received my letter for the hearing till the day of my hearing was past..i think the VA man in my county did it on purpose..... if you believe a Veteran has the benefits he supposed get but not all of them .. I regret service now to my country and don't want the cursed Flag over my coffin... bad enough tbt cursed for my service but I'll not be cursed by the Flag over me...it doesn't mean what it did when I ETS out of the Army..... but to me I have been betrayed by the very people.... my countrymen...... I live a lonely isolated life because of it now with no freinds and no relatives close by.... but I have been dead to everyone so long and now with the Pandemic... isolation is about the same... I don't go nowhere now didn't before cause this country isn't beautiful in my eyes no longer. .VA wouldn't help me with my teeth after the partials they made caused my teeth to rot at the gums.. that was 6 years ago.. I pulled most of them but my upper front which stay infected off and on .... but overall VA Hospital overall let my health deteriorate .... I don't care anymore I'm so tired of life alone ... I'm not gonna take the shot for any of the Virus . Delta or what ever....be my luck it won't even bother me at all and I have to live longer in the miserable world that is so full of hate and misery... .no I think when this started it's for the public eyes not the Veterans.... sure never is nothing to help me..... ain't I the lucky one.... really sux.. but I don't care.... what can do when your old and neglected..... die is about all .

Hey Phillip Watkins I So sorry to see your feel your country has let you down. I've been through quite a bit too but after a lot of prayer, I learned to only go to VA hospitals & VA dentists too! They keep all your records & can refer you out with no charge to you. This world is a lonely place but you've gotta love yourself & never giveup hope. Sometimes you gotta get a lawyer to help you get your disability but it can be free if you are persistent. You are not much older than me. Once you get your disability they might even give you back pay. People live longer these days, don't feel like it's too late. Just get yourself connected to some more vets that can help you get what you deserve.

If you are 100% P&T, how can you add a condition for service connection that needs to be added? I have been repeatedly told it’s a moot point because I am already 100%. The issue is not adding “more percentage” but adding a condition that is service connected I could die from. If I died from a condition not listed, my spouse would mot be entitled to the DIC payments after my death. I am registered in the burn pit but it is not listed, as well as other documented conditions. I want to protect my spouse also. What can be done?

I spent a month at K2 and many of my co-workers were there longer and are having long term health issues. Some have died and some are currently battling cancer. What are you doing to see that these folks get proper treatment? Many have been denied service connections to their ailments, but it is widely documented that that place was a cesspool of chemical and radiological contamination.

So what happens for those that have expiration date on their gi bill in 2023? Because of this pandemic will it get extended? I find it dumb that the forever gi bill only applies to those that served after 2009. What about those vets such as myself that served 2 tours in Iraq. I needed almost two years to readjust to civilian life before I started school. Is there a website or someone I can contact about this?

When is the VA finally going to update the ratings schedule as required by 38 USC §1155? Also, does the VA want to join the rest of the world in becoming members of the 21st century? There is no justification whatsoever that a veteran needs to submit a hard copy request to access their claims file and wait approximately 8 months to gain access to that information while VSOs are able to gain access to claims files in a matter of days.

Well, let me tell you as a disabled veteran who utilized some ch33 and then moving on to ch31. Vocational Rehabilitation was a blessing and an absolute nightmare. The VR&E have way too much power. Specifically, I had a setback in one of my service-connected disabilities and how that hindered the progress of my education program. I majored in IT Infosec. My TBI hindered me from retaining the Command Line /Programming aspect of my program. Long story short - VR&E offered my a 'Change of Program'. We went through all the motions. I obtained many VA physician supporting documents. I did labor market researches, costs of a new program, duration, accreditation, etc etc. I was told my counselor that everything was set in place, I was eligible, and to finish my current program of study - then we'd move on to the Program Change. I failed many of those classes and wound up completing with 2gpa. Once I finished, my counselor scheduled a meeting with me and told me that they could not support a Change of Program. They denied me and said that I needed to complete more cognitive therapy. Afterwards, I completed months and months of cognitive therapy. I received statements from VA polytrauma (& other departments) that supported my Chamge if Program. After that, I was denied again by my VR&Ecounselorandher supervisor. They had me come to the VA regional office and gave me an ultimatum: They would write a supporting document for 100% individual unemployability (as they did not believe that I could work). Or I could continue with Employment services from VR&E. This was a contradiction. They did not have the medical education or experience to deny me for any medical reasons. That was the whole point of completing the Change of Program process (which took months by the way). Yet, they "allowed" to utilize employment services. I graduated May 2019. Since then, I was unable to maintain an IT position. I secured five different Help Desk, Tier 1 IT Analyst, and service desk positions. All of which I failed miserably. I could not retain the information of the critical aspects of these roles as I stated previously. The longest I lasted at one position was 6 days. This led to my family and I becoming homeless. I fell deepering into my depression & had suicidal ideations daily. We then got help from the VA's HUD-VASH program and The Wounded Warrior Project. My family and I have a roof over our heads. I have yet to find gainful employment. Im currently searching for employment in different career fields. This devastated my family and I. I wasted 6 years of my life and am not vocationally rehabilitated. The program of Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment has amazing intentions, but there are people working for them that do not. I won't speculate on the reasons. Just know that I had many resourses to help me along this battle. Pennsylvania State Senator Bob Casey and his team helped as far as they could, but even they told me that the VR&E laws had too much grey area to allow this to happen.

If only veterans/widows realized that eligibility begins in RVN port visits out to the Straight Baseline (Demarcation Points in HR299) plus an additional 12nm further out to sea (Territorial Sea) IAW U.N. Convention and Law of the Sea of 1982 Part II, articles 2, 3, and 7 as referenced by the Federal Circuit Court in their Procopio v Wilkie decision of 29 Jan 2019. Lots of disinformation reflecting 12nm from shore, which we all know is not IAW PL 116-23.

Thank You VA Under Secretary Paul R. Lawrence PH.D. and VA Executive Director Compensation Service Beth Murphy, JD for your very professional Webcast of the VBA Performance & Results from Q1 January 30, 2020 on youtube. I am a 2 tour US Navy Vietnam Veteran aboard the USS White Plains AFS4 from September 1971 to July 1973. You mentioned the ships log books that you obtained from the National Archives (26,000 Boxes) that you had to scan and document in order to help the VA with the Blue Water Navy Act and the Veterans who will be filing claims for medical compensation of Agent Orange Exposure. If need be for the VA records of obtaining a ships whereabouts at the 3 critical times that you mentioned in your presentation just a helpful fact FYI. Each ship also had Engineering Logs that were kept by each ships Engineering Division that would also tie together the ships 24/7 Daily Engineering "GOING ON'S" as far as making Fresh Water for the ships bathing, drinking, laundry, cleaning, etc....out of the SEA WATER through the ships DESALINIZATION EVAPORATOR UNITS. Also for more proof positive evidence, I was wondering if my pictures that were taken out at sea (Blue Water Navy 12 Mile Zone) & (Feet on the Ground) could be used for a Veterans Claim if need be. Our Captain Mr. Barker, would have "SWIM CALL" for the White Plains Crew well within the 12 Mile Zone of the South China Sea. Also on a few occasions after a hard line swing of replenishing the 7th Fleet with food, Water & Supplies, as well as the US Army / Naval Bases at Da Nang & Cam Rahn Bay, we would anchor out a mile from the beaches of Cam Rahn Bay and take the ships motor whale boats into the shallows of the beach head where we would depart for the white sandy beaches and waters for some R&R. These moments in time during the Vietnam War aboard the Blue Water Ships, just might be be found in the ships log books. I have my personal photos to prove those times aboard the USS White Plains. And, I am sure many more US Navy Vietnam Veterans can provide the VA with positive proof of the same. Thank You, once again for helping those Vietnam Veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange while serving their country. Sincerely & Respectfully, David W. Grohman EMFN 1971-1973 USS White Plains AFS4

@@UNKNOWN-le2tu I have heard many negative things in my life, however I trust my own experiences more than opinions. The fact is I am a DAV officer and know not only the claims process, but also how the VA works. The VA has a TON of veterans working for them, to say "they do not care" is just not reasonable. I suggest to other vets to try and be nice for one, if they go into it with a bad attitude with anything, it ends up harming us in the end. You are referring to a C&P with " doctors try to find things to deny me" remember it has to be a current condition and a link to service and that link has to be clear as can be. This is where a lot of vets do not understand and think that if they have a legitimate issue it should be granted, where the link is often the issue and they get upset at the VA. It's all in CFR38, but few people know the system. One thing as a volunteer which I am is I will not want to deal with a vet that is uncooperative-it makes my job difficult and makes their claim a nightmare. Attitude is everything in life and if one projects negativity, there is natural inclination to distance, and ultimately it will hurt the veteran in a claim where a person who is nice I will be more inclined to help.

@@2000ViperGTSsubscribe i was referring to comments from others that made those very comments. people. im not going to single out veterans because it is a people thing. anyways people believe doctors look for reasons to deny them. like in a physical, a general medical physical. thee are guidelines the doctor goes by, like a check list (but in their head) to learn what a medical physical can teach you. people feel their physical is to determine their disability or prove their disability. when in fact that is not the case. not everyone is a doctor and not everyone knows the ins and outs of medical education. they may feel neglected when a certain aspect is overlooked. when it was up to the patient to bring up that aspect or medical condition. not every visit will be exactly catered to you especially when your condition is not known. as far as c&p goes many people believe the checklist is there to undiagnose them. that is simply not true. to better accuratly understand someones disability the right questions need to be asked. those who are not as disabled as they want to be get anxiety over certain questions and information probed out of them. examiners can pick up on that anxiety and see its manifestation source. too many see someone sitting at home getting money for being disabled. i cut myself, i have a lot of scars on my leg and arm. someone else may say i can cut myself too so i should get paid to sit at home. so i say let me see you cut your body. let me send you to a mental hospital for 3 weeks where you must take medication and participate in therapy sessions. what are you going to tell the psychiatrist. that you self injure for money and someone dared you to self injure? i doubt it. i only posted that comment because too many time i see people make comments like that. i actually made a video response to comments like that.
