Agree, it's one of the more crowded beaches in La Paz now, due to the many recent media articles naming it one of the top beaches in Mexico. When we first came here it was easy to get in and enjoy. A little more planning needed now, but indeed, it remains a very special place!

What about the hotel options? We stayed at Hotel Los Arcos, but that was just over fifty years ago. Is it still there?

Los Arcos is a bit of a local tragedy - it's been shut down and dilapidated for years and years... I believe it had something to do with employee back-pay and it's been frozen in red tape ever since. Such a prime piece of property, such a shame! Anyway thanks for watching!

It really varies tremendously depending on the size of the apartment or house, or the year it was made, and so many other potential factors. We've watched a lot of swings in pricing over the last couple of years.

Villas del Oasis is only about 3 minute drive from the water, and an amazing beach (Dunes of Mogote) is only about 8-10 minutes' drive away!

Your videos are geared toward rich Gringos, which I understand because you are selling relocation. La Paz is such a NOT tourist place, and yet that was your focus. You missed some opportunities here. I've been here seven years and haven't eaten at any of the places you mentioned, with the exception of 1935 Central and Dulce Romero. Romero because it is steps from my house and 1935 Central because of a birthday request. I won't return to 1935 Central. With the exception of street vendors and Bravo Market, the ones you showed where highend Gringo joints. I hope to never step foot in Harker Board or Tailhunters. Honestly, just a block or two off the Malecon has far more authentic food and better prices with authentic experiences. Pay tourist prices at tourist places. For those of us that live here, we find a quaint hole in the wall with friendly service at half the price and they are everywhere.

Can one person live comfortably on 2800 a month there? I would want to buy a small home or townhouse so I wouldn't be renting. If you drive down from CA can you keep your car there and just transfer your tags to Mexico plates?

Hi, Gord here. Your budget sounds very reasonable - the costs of living here are much lower than you might be used to. Still, the government here has minimum income requirements for foreigners seeking temporary or permanent residency, so best to check with a relocation expert to see if you qualify... Or if you were only wanting to stay for up to six months at a time, a lot of folks enter on a visitor's visa and just head back up to the border. As for your vehicle, you can drive foreign-plated cars in Baja California & Baja California Sur, but you wouldn't be able to take it to the mainland. Nationalizing a car here has benefits, though, and depending on the year & country of origin, it can be "made Mexican" for a fairly minimal expense. I'd recommend shooting me an email - [email protected] - and I can connect you with some great relocation experts that'd be able to walk you through all those processes noted above. The neighborhood isn't gated - it's a cul-de-sac with Casa Oso at the very back. We're not sure about development behind - at the moment it's a big chunk of federal land with loads of trails for mountain biking & horseback riding!

Loved your video. I need to re-view and take notes; as we live in Todos Santos and should learn to enjoy LaPaz more than we have. Sadly have had to go to LaPaz a number of times due to a court mess. Some in B.C.S. make their money by suing their employers, as the courts favor the employees 70% of the time. It truly is their hobby. They don't have stress from such a thing taking place; they just sit back and wait for their measly few thousand dollars after two years of mentally torturing the 'hand that fed them'. Happy to learn about the areas and the restaurants.
