Another Dave here. Brighton sings your praises loud n clear. My wife and I are very much considering your area. Probably me more so than she. Her worries are healthcare for the over 65 ers. If we do find affordable health ins. the move would be closer to seamless. We're on the other coast , Nova Scotia. But moving from universal healthcare can be "scarey". It'll be a permanent as we too have dogs. Please keep those videos coming. Dave of P n D

I am a Mexican national living in the United States for many years but plan to retire in Mexico. Are there financing options available? Or would one have to pay cash for the purchase of a home or land?

Great video Gordon! Were you a real estate agent prior to moving there and if so how easy was it to get licensed in Mexico? All the best from Canada!

Hi Dave - so sorry for the late response. Indeed I was a realtor in Victoria, British Columbia. The licensing process here takes a few months, and there were a few hoops to jump through - but thankfully Baja Life helped me along so it wasn't too difficult at all. Where are you in Canada?

I'm in Vancouver BC, I've been a realtor for 14 years here but am thinking about where to buy a home to vacation and potentially retire. La paz and the surrounding area seems amazing! How's crime in reality down there? Much less than the media makes it seem I'm guessing? Thanks for the response.

@@DaveCollette Hah - indeed MUCH less than the media likes to report. When we planned our move, I did a bit of a deep dive into Mexican crime & murder stats. Indeed, it ranks high among countries for murder, however it's concentrated in a few border towns, and when you factor in innocent casualties, it ranks among the lowest in the world. The great majority of crime is between the cops & the cartels! La Paz is fabulous. My folks moved here nearly 20 years ago and have had nearly zero instances of any crime whatsoever. The locals are amazing.

I was under the impression that Americans could not buy homes close to the ocean has that changed

I drove around El Centenario for an hour and a half today. This video totally misrepresents the area. I saw nothing close to a livable community.
