Very interesting perspective on this idea of the east vs west clash… and the role of individuals in shaping the course of history… and the little tidbit on the role of Chinese women

Thank you for this interesting trip to the Balkins and tying it to the geopolitics of today. It's very meaningful to me! Since I just saw this video you posted since April, today is end of June, can you add any followup to how TikTok has become the defender of the 1st Amendment and because of AIPAC and it's buying suppression in US Congress and continuing Gencide that if brought by FB or Google, which are Jewish led companies, TikTok will be the last of telling the truth for Americans! I like your impressions on this in another video perhaps?

Fascinating interview... one of the unintended benefits of trying to recognising over 3000 characters and then remembering the sound as well as the tone , is the development of brain power and capacity... Therefore someone who can fluently speak both say english and chinese which are fundamentally so different, i would say their brains would be far more developed and superior 😊

Whether one doubts China's rising on whatever premises one bases one's views on, China return to the pre-eminent world power is inevitable. As at today's date itself, on based purchasing power parity, the Middle Kingdom's economy has already surpassed 'Merika! In a couple more years, China's economy will surpass 'Merika' in absolute terms.

I note that the West, including America, has opted many times in its history to bail out institutions it thought were too big to fail.

Emmanuel, I think I got what’s your point was about picking the U.S. side on TikTok. But you tried to shorten your opinions into a 1 minute non-sense. I think you should clarify your opinions in a more concise summary. Your insightful thoughts are the first that made a lot of sense on how technology sequencing and attaining successes. Thanks for sharing your time with us.

You can't use reform to be applied to every nation with very different culture and back ground. Try your reform in Malaysia on taking away Bumiputra privileges. The country will collapse. I believe there is more than one way to skin the cat. White cat or black cat, as long as it can catch mice its a good cat. This is why China is ahead competitively. Most of the world still living in the western cultural and ideology shadow of a zero sum game. It's either my way or high way. BTW India wasted years trying to mimic the west but lack the power, the resources and status to implement. It has to adapt and come up with what is best for India. Its the same for Malaysia. Its the same with China. Running a country of 1.5b with 4.5b meals a day like clockwork and to come this stage being the biggest economy by PPP, they must be doing something right. Be humble and look beyond your fixed gaze and learn. China is not perfect but they have plenty to teach you and me.

Very Interesting Mr Daniel. I find it intriguing that you mentioned The Best Is Yet To Be. This is the motto of my alma mater. I guess you are from the same school (seeing that you have the same vocal mannerisms). It is only in recent years that I became more interested in the Asia perspective of history, having been educated in what can only be described as a quintessential Anglophile institution. Separately, my paternal grandfather was a well-known community leader (at the turn of the last century right up to after WW2) & again, it was only recently that I began to learn more about him with much information coming from various third party sources. I a still trying to collaborate the information about him and the history of Singapore (where I am domiciled), China and Taiwan (my ancestral home is in Kinmen).

Thank you so much Emmanuel for an informative video of SYS in Penang, Malaya. Having said that I feel that you are too optimistic about the future. I feel that time is running out for mankind and the future looks bleak for everyone. Good intentions and ambition will not translate into reality. There will be conflict between the West and the Rest leading to the fall of the Anglo-American western empire and its obliteration from the annals of history. For those who survive in the global south, they will have to live without Anglo-Saxons in power. How this will turn out only time will tell. If things go according to predictions, the new world will be utopia but with a much smaller population with humans having talents, psychic powers and abilities not seen in present humans. Good luck world!

there are some parallels but like you said yourself they are very different. Zheng He's voyages were to show Ming's magnificence, but today's BRI is to create economic growth to make common prosperity a future reality. Zheng He's ships came and went, but today's infrastructures will remain.
