great video. very helpful, but, man, you're totally misusing the word cavitated. Cavitation is basically bubbling in a fluid going through a pump. The rough flow can wear away at the surfaces around it.
@thehowardsgarage2480
@thehowardsgarage2480 11 күн бұрын
@@badsanta518 Cavitation has multiple definitions, including the formation of vapor bubbles in liquids, the wearing away of solid surfaces, and the formation of cavities in organs or tissues: Vapor bubbles in liquids Cavitation is the process of forming vapor bubbles in a liquid at low pressure regions. This can happen when a liquid is accelerated to high velocities, such as in water turbines, centrifugal pumps, and marine propellers. Cavitation can also occur when a high-intensity ultrasonic wave causes gas pockets to expand and collapse, generating high stresses in the liquid. This is known as ultrasonic cavitation. Cavitation can cause structural damage to propellers and pumps, and can sound like a pump is full of gravel, marbles, or rocks. Wearing away of solid surfaces Cavitation can also cause solid surfaces, such as concrete or metal, to pit and wear away as the vacuums in the surrounding liquid collapse. Cavities in organs or tissues Cavitation can also refer to the formation of cavities in organs or tissues, especially during disease. In embryology, cavitation is the formation of the blastocoel, a fluid-filled cavity that defines the blastula or blastocyst.

@@badsanta518 would you rather I waste my time explaining the definition to you in my own words rather than sending the correct definition? Also, erosion is a process or action. Honestly, it’s different for each diesel vehicle. But this truck had an off-road tune on it at the time. That’s why I wasn’t able to drive it on the main road, and it created a lot of smoke even if I barely gave it any throttle… but still smoke a decent amount with a regular daily tune….. so, basically yes. The more throttle you give it at once, the more smoke you would see.

If anybodys rlly concerned about the motor sliding around in those mounts you could find your fitment position on the mounts and then index mark where you want your bolts to be once tightened on the mounts and then cut out little pieces of metal (with same thickness as mounts) to fit into the excess slide area on the mounts, but thats prolly really not even necessary like he was sayin, loctite and lock washers should be sufficient unless your throwin tons of power at it then you might wanna fill in the open slide gap area of the mounts like i was sayin. Im def gonna use those dirty dingo mounts when I LS swap my 96 roadmaster collectors edition.

Code P0016 with a 3.6VVT is a miscommunication of information between the crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor 1 A. This is usually because the crankshaft sensor goes bad before the cam sensor and can’t read camshaft information. That means that the injectors will get wacky signals and will inject inaccurate levels of fuel causing a multiple cylinder misfire code P0300. Unplug your battery, replace the crank sensor and see what happens. If your still getting a misfire, this could then be a number of things from bad rockers, lifters, wear on the cams themselves, or unaligned timing chain. These motors are great when they work, but when they don’t they’re the absolute worst. Good luck to all 🤙🏽

How u get tha starter to work
@thehowardsgarage2480
@thehowardsgarage2480 4 ай бұрын
I just ran the ignition switch wire that’s coming out of the firewall on the passenger side straight to the solenoid on the starter. I think it’s a thick yellow wire. But all you have to do is google or go to LToneswap.com to see which wire it is exactly exactly and run it to the starter and then you will be able to start it up just like the factory engine.

Wiring harness can you tell me how to make it or can I send you the harness
@thehowardsgarage2480
@thehowardsgarage2480 4 ай бұрын
If you go to LT1swap.com you will be able to see all of the wiring diagrams from the factory harness, and the harness from the LS engine you are using and be able to cut and splice the wires yourself using that information… Or you could just order a standalone harness, which is much simpler and everything comes labeled and ready to go.

I have a 1997 7.3l. I drained the system last night and got about 5-6 gallons out of it. It drained for about an hour and stopped dripping. When I took off the old water pump about 2 more gallons came out from the engine. Did I do something wrong? Also, if you refill with cap off does that help burp the system?
@thehowardsgarage2480
@thehowardsgarage2480 4 ай бұрын
Sounds like you might’ve just had an air bubble stuck in there that held some antifreeze back. And yes, if you refill the system and then start it up and let it run a while with the cap off it helps get the air out of the system. Then drive around the block a few times going up and down some hills and bring it back home and shut it off and let it sit for about an hour or two to cool down on level and top it back off again. And then drive it for a week and see if it needs anymore.
