If I can give a bit of advice here goes. I would encourage anyone watching Dans videos rewatch them multiple times. The reason is you will may miss something that can really change the way you hunt. There is so much information and when it’s coming from a master at his trade you can really learn so much. Absolutely incredible information Dan is putting out. Be a sponge and absorb it all then get out there and implement it. God bless everyone here !!!!

Judging by your reaction to that shot and your precision stand placement you have no need to justify shooting it regardless of the rack size. Many people who shoot giants don’t have that kind of genuine elation to harvesting a buck. Never worry about what anyone thinks you keep putting out material like this and you will always have a following my friend. This was not a mistake but and absolutely amazing videos. God bless you and your family.

About humid days, the other day it was humid and no wind, the dew was still on the grass in my yard at Noon! And I was thinking about Shane Simpson saying that when it's damp it's better for the dog's nose.

Dan, I’m kind of disappointed that you said people that hunt the rut don’t know what they’re doing. That’s a slap in the face to me. I hunt bed to food in my home state, but when I go to the Midwest every year, I hunt the rut. Why? Because I’m hunting public land and I want to increase my odds of killing a nice buck, not because I don’t know what I’m doing.
@markabney3 күн бұрын
Anyone can kill a big one during the rut! But it takes skill to hunt them down where they fill the safest… There bedroom
@timmytuffy53443 күн бұрын
@@markabneyyet not every one is killing mature bucks in the rut either lol….
@thehuntingbeast3 күн бұрын
I dont think I ever said people that hunt the rut dont know what they are doing... Not what I said at all... I said its easier for people who don't know what they are doing to get lucky in rut. People who are well rounded in most areas in my opinion can do better outside of rut.
@samhart19712 күн бұрын
I’ve probably watched everything dans put out and that is not how I take it I feel like Dan preaches that if you truly want a chance to pattern and kill a mature deer early season is what you want that being said I’m pretty sure we all have early season spots and rut spots and late spots. I feel the people who only hunt the rut by choice are for lack of a better word fools

You ever had one of the really bad scouting trips?? Well yesterday I was scouting and the deer ticks attacked me so bad. I've picked almost 400 off of me si ce yesterday. And let me tell you, they are small

Why is the video so low quality? I don’t think it’s me.
@Going4BrokeOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Dan and I both have below average internet connections. I have the bitrate of the stream low so it works with our connections. If I increase the video stream quality (higher bitrate), then it buffers a lot more and we can't have the near real-time interaction with the audience.

Lets talk about the darn deer flys, this time a year they will tear you up and destroy you, any thoughts or dont you have that problem in your sector?
@thehuntingbeast4 күн бұрын
I assume you mean "horse flys" at least thats what we call em... The bite pretty bad, its more like a sting and bug spray don't seem to bother em... I just put up with it. But they do suck

We call them deer Flys there house fly size and hoarse fly aggressive, they tear into you same siccors style as a hoarse fly and sprays and mesh don't work very well, there evil and nasty, and ruin my late outings here in my lairs 😔

Literally 100drs attack you from may till end of August, one thing I always said around my parts, it's God's way too keep us predators out of the deers bedrooms for a part of the season and obviously you got too get your work done in the winter months and have faith in your scouting that you accomplished reasonable expectations for the up coming season. I'm like you been wolf ing the woods my hole life, now 60 you just have too wait for the real windy or rainy days this time of year too put the puzzle together more, but this is how I slither, but thought maybe, you had these evil lill'l bassas and maybe figured some defense systems. Luckily each season after the season I usually got my sector's figured out pretty well and some biggens too Prosue . Another Diddy too you , I always considered myself a very good white tail hunter and very good You identifier of great big buck areas and have a pretty good pocket full of jingle, but with watching your videos of what I have been doing my hole life, same mobile style and always isolated areas. With you it's like taking along my older brother with dynamic wisdom your suggestions and ideas open my eyes a bit clearer on certain things that are priceless, thank you Dan for all you do, your we'll appreciated by me👊

The amount of idiots that stomp through the local public the weeks leading up to season does nothing but pack deer onto the property I hunt. Trail cams have made this even worse they "Sneak in" to check and blow everything out for months leading up to the season. I know that come the 30th of Aug I will start getting the old fellas showing up and I am happy to treat them with clover, corn, a secluded pond, and hilly bedding. Every year like clockwork.

Dan- What are your thoughts about sweating and scent while working in your hunting area preseason? Here is Texas I sweat like crazy and worry about pushing them out of an area while clearing brush. It is almost all private here in Texas, so can't just hunt them as they move.
@thehuntingbeast4 күн бұрын
I dont think sweating really bad is much if any worse than a cooler day... If you get scent In the area, you did the damage... Any clearing, stand set ups, scouting, etc, should be done as far in advance as possible... Big bucks hang out in daylight where they feel safe and smell no danger and havent for a while...

Every area is diff and all deer are diff. All depends on the situation. City deer are dumb. Mountain deer are smarter more aware of surroundings. It’s all situational

I dont recall saying they dont work... I said something to the effect of they dont work well and you have to catch the mature buck on the right day, and that it spooks more than it attracts... But absolutly it can occasionally work... If you understand. edding and hunt without tipping your cards you can consistantly kill mature bucks year after year, even in heavy pressure.... I dont know of anyone doing that with scents... If scents are your thing, eh, more power to you. Im not into tricking them or notifying them of my presence, im into the chess match and figuring them out. To each their own
@kbbowden19 сағат бұрын
I have had some luck in the past with scents. I have also, watched bucks hit my drag line jump and take off the other way. With that said… they banned natural scents here. None of the synthetic scents seem to do jack.

Hands down, the only guy I'm interested in listening to is Dan....his lifetime of experience and his never give up attitude, his awareness of the mental part of the game is what the average guy needs to hear and understand. Hunting is a lot of work, but it needs to remain fun and enjoyable. Be prepared (scout) and give it your best shot....

You are so good at communicating and educating us on the way to accomplish killing target deer. Just awesome video one after another.
