Spectacular video Dave! I really don't blame you for not camping. Fair play Dave for walking in that brutal storm. The storm made the walk more difficult for you, but the effort was well worth it. It's good that you had the lochain all to yourself. What a lovely rainbow. Thanks for sharing, take care, Jordan.

Great video per usual Dave, it would be great if you could do a vid on all your gear and what you take up on a wild camp

I enjoy your videos Dave....it's always a rewarding struggle hiking up these hills :-) I can shed some light on the non-existent path. In case you didn't know, Public Rights of Way (green dashes) may have been added to the map from old inaccurate historical descriptions. They're often not paths on the ground. Some go off cliffs and are definitely best avoided. The one you were following has no small black dashes marking a real path. Often a red flag. Notice how unusually straight it is too. Normally our paths wiggle a little as they find the easiest line over the contours. Great Gable has several PRoWs marked on it which aren't paths at all. PRoWs do get people into trouble. GPS receivers make it easy to accurately follow a line on the map. Less experienced hikers than you will press on even when the ground gets dangerous. Keswick MRT have been called out to the same PRoW three times in two weeks. Story here: ib4727.n3cdn1.secureserver.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/The_Lemming_Road-Keswick_MRT2019.pdf Mountain, beer, cooking....sign me up :-)

Magnificent video Dave! This is the most beautiful winter scenery I've seen so far. The Cairngorms offered you a ticket to Winter Wonderland, and of course it was an offer you can't refuse. Well done for reaching the summit of Ben Macdui. Astonishing views of Scotland. Thanks for sharing, take care, Jordan.

Did that route up to Whiteside in April, lost the path at exact point you did too😂 leave the channel as before would be my advice.. maybe too many videos in Scotland and your core support is the Lakes possibly…could be a reason viewing figures dropped off..

Cheers CS. Yeah you’re right about Scotland but I love the place and im certainly not going to stop visiting. Was up there last week and did 4 camps but no filming. It’s just not worth the time and effort that goes into making the videos if people aren’t interested in watching. ATB.

I miss the chicken sh*t Golden Globe. But as long as a tent does what it's supposed to do, I guess the colour isn't really important.

i know what its like climbing with hardly any sleep, i did the 3 UK peaks challeng, 25 years ago. Snowdon wasnt a bother, but i started to feel it after driving up (i wasnt driving thankfully and none of the other climbers were), then Ska Fell Pike was a bit of a slog and then Nevis, that id never done before, was a massive uphill challenge, yes, deliberate pun, this over 3 days. man, i needed my own bed after that, thankfully we had rented a cabin. the drivers were along for the party, well they were there for a emergency, being serious, as we had a inexperinced couple with us.

What does it matter what other people think, we waste too much collective energy on something that at the end of the day doesn't mean a jot to oneself , as I once said to a colleague at work who was grinding my gears, " Your opinion of me or what I do is of no business of mine!" Keep doing what you're one of the best at Dave, all your true followers love you for that! Loved the sarcasm in this vid, and your dry northern humour it's precisely that which sets you apart from the rest of the camping fraternity. Keep at it you Ol'Darwener. ATB Michael. 😊🏕🥾👊

You had me at the Peroni 🥰 and lost me at the boiled egg 😂. Gastro level cooking skills. You do you and don’t worry about others. Stick what makes you happy. You don’t need another tent 😂. I picked up three plastic bottles last Sunday along the same ridge line. It’s that time of year; those leave every tracers and the muppets on tour driving around the Lakes. Two cars can fit over skelwith bridge but not if you are in the middle bridge. Another 3 weeks and it’ll will be back to you and the Fells. (And all of us locals !). Those car bills sound expensive but having my youngest back from Uni and living with us in the Lakes is just as expensive!!! Till next time. Your cover page needs a headline like “Solo the Dead Reckoning Part” loads of YT views. Also, the infinity pools, you do know someone did fall last week ? Went to grab his partner who had slipped and took a tumble. Bring back the Rioja wine. Not long and brew with a view will be back 👍

😂👍 proper KZfaqr ✅. I have always really enjoyed your channel for the hikes and the views. To be honest, I don’t watch channels that all do the same thing. When I think of a proper KZfaqr I think of someone who produces a quality video every week because it’s how they actually make their living. Which seems near impossible to me 😂. Especially if you want to continue loving what you do. However, KZfaq can be a fun hobby! Always enjoy your uploads. ATB

Dave do you do it for the journey and the experiences that come with it, or to grow your channel? Boiling an egg and drinking italian shite larger i think is an experiment gone wrong. And your probably laughing. And probably bored because you know the landscspe like back of your hand. May be share your tents with others so they can share their tents with you. So probably leave the real ale to Wild about wales he does real ale real whisky and real wales Keep smiling See you in the next one Peter and lucky the Boxer dog

Thanks for sharing Dave. Another great video. Your channel is a proper KZfaq channel. No gimmicks, just you being your normal self..you just get on with things and tell us how it is. Perhaps a title of “ I fell off the top of a waterfall and broke both my legs” or “ My tent pole broke...so I called Mountain Rescue” would get more views but this just isn’t you. Both the above have happened in The Lake District in the last 2 weeks...some absolute bone heads around at the moment 😂

Hilarious, Dave, great stuff! It's a cracking ridge.... once you get up there after what seems an endless slog. Jamie Oliver eat your heart out! Although never mind getting a bit adventurous with a boiled egg, get stocked up with dark chocolate Bounty Bars and then you're talking! LOL I agree with the serious message though, about people ruining places, partly because they don't know what they're doing and don't care about the countryside and think it's okay for other people to clear up after them. I like your idea about an 'easy' one... as you head up a vertical ghyll side! 🤣
