Hello, as a computer science major I'd like to offer some potential fixes for your crashes. (I enjoy your videos/streams by the way, discovered your channel recently and its nice to listen to in the background while doing other things.) -As some others have said, it may be related to overheating. My reasoning for this is that your crashes seem to mainly happen while streaming and while gaming at the same time, a combination of which push computers to use a lot of their resources. If your computer also crashes while sitting idle doing more or less nothing, it being overheating is slightly less likely. Some solutions to overheating are: --Ensure your computer is in a well ventilated environment, mainly just ensure that the sides/back aren't blocked by being stuffed in a corner or with big objects in the way. --If you haven't cleaned your computer in along time, clean it. This is most easily done by removing the side panel, and buying a cheap can of 'compressed air', spraying it anywhere you see dust. (If you haven't cleaned it in a long time, there will be lots of dust, if its reallyyyy bad you could consider taking your computer outside for it.) (This is also assuming you're using a desktop, if you're using a laptop the back panel can likely also be removed to clean, but you might need to remove some screws. Google a tutorial if you need for your particular laptop.) (You can buy a can of compressed air in most places, hardware stores, tech stores, online, etc.) --As some others have said, you might wanna consider downloading some software so you can see if your temperatures are getting super high while you're gaming/streaming, I don't have a software recommendation, but I'm sure if you search 'what software should I use to monitor cpu and gpu temps' you'll find good recommendations. --If your cpu temps happen to be reallyyy bad, you might have to consider taking the cpu out, cleaning the thermal paste with alcohol, and reapplying new thermal paste. This option is harder than the rest and should be a kind of last resort depending on how it goes. -It might be driver related. Assuming you have an NVIDIA graphics card like most people do (if you're not sure, go to task manager, performance, then GPU.), you'll want to install NVIDIA Geforce Experience if you don't have it already. Then just make an account real quick, then go to the Drivers tab, click download/update and follow the onscreen instructions. This is relatively easy and may help quite a lot. -It might be a memory corruption issue, this happened to me when I built my last computer and I had to RMA a faulty stick of RAM and get a new one. search 'windows memory diagnostic' in your windows search bar at the bottom of the screen and follow the onscreen instructions. A few final resorts are updating Windows, doing a check-disk command, and running windows defender to see if it detects any viruses. (P.S. This is all if you have a Windows computer of course. If you use an Apple Mac/Macbook then I'm sorry for you) Edit: I wrote this before watching this whole stream, I see a good few of these solutions were already brought up either by you or chatters, oops

When it comes to the PC crashes it might be overheat issue, try to monitor GPU temp (I doubt it's CPU but you might monitor its temp as well just for a sake of be sure), frame drops are often sign of GPU overheating, also more stuff to render causes GPU temp rise which is consistent with a crash timing.

@@SlippedGear Interesting idea! Although you still have to do those first 3 days perfectly which is perhaps the toughest part. As promised, some additional thoughts: Coal, buffs, and calories seem to be the primary draw of any given route, with a secondary goal of more long-term advancements like clothing and tools. I think this was the main problem with the lake circuit(no coal or guaranteed buffs) compared to heading towards trapper's. Another thing I'll be thinking about for the next attempt is the switch that happens around Day 3-4 when the min temp kicks in. Prior to this, I think I need to try to rush around a bit more and go for better clothing(I'm even considering going to Homesteader's/Summit for the guaranteed clothing.) Once min temp kicks in, I'll need to be more judicious about travel. This could mean for example scheduling sleep at locations with rabbits so I have something useful to do during cold mornings.

I've noticed how often you use the inventory rather than the radial dial, I'm curious what the upsides are to that.
@ArchimedesLP25 күн бұрын
Two main reasons I can think of: - Grabbing a new torch: radial gives the best torch, I like to use the worst torches first(this is more weight efficient since I use up the low torches quickly.) - Dropping torch: Drop from inventory is silent, won't scare rabbits/ptarmigans or alert nearby wolves/bears. Thanks for dropping by the last couple streams! Glad to have you :)

Couldnt you just make a bridge of skillets?
@ArchimedesLP26 күн бұрын
It's not legal to "place" the skillets onto the glitched-collision-skillets so this isn't really practical. You can still kind of do it by standing on top and repeatedly dropping a skillet until it falls in exactly the right place, then lock it in and continue. But this limits your direction of travel to the default item rotation for that map, which doesn't happen to align with the direction needed here. I think it might be possible to build a "skillet staircase" from the other side(using this default direction) but it would take a lot of patience(and skillets.)

Been to all the listed spawn points in ML and major locations everywhere else. Did not check trappers on my way to the forge and did not check the upper dam thoroughly. Have loot tables been scrambled in the past few updates? I thought there was a guaranteed bedroll in ML. any ideas? Edit: I do not have the dlc, I don't expect to live much beyond Broken Body with the limited amount of teas I'm able to save. Crapload of coffee and herbal stocked up though. Yes, there's always a bedroll in ML, IF you count the spot just behind the dam(which is technically in Winding River.) It can spawn in a pipe there. Other than that, it's usually in the camp office(make sure to check under the stairs.) Or it could be in one of the outdoor locations(I only checked two of them here, the third is in a cave past the rope climb behind the lake.)

Move fast, get the guaranteed clothes, focus on easy powerful items like coal and birch bark tea. Running and then warming up with periodic indoor naps and/or fires is an efficient way to deal with the cold, until clothing starts to catch up and you can walk more in the afternoon/evenings. I may make a video going into a sort of theorycrafted strong Misery start as I don't think I'll be playing the regular version anytime soon.

@ArchimedesLPАй бұрын
So it's hard to answer this question without coming off too pretentious... but basically with more playtime in insane challenges, the difficulties below that start to become pretty easy. So I've already had a 100+ day run in NOGOA since about 2 years(?) ago and Misery is easier than that(at least in the early game, it's roughly the same lategame.) I did do a stream of regular misery, basically went to summit and AC, then got bored and was passing time waiting for the second affliction to kick in. I didn't want to invest a lot of time into the mode without knowing how hard it would be, so I did end up looking up the afflictions to see what I'd be up against. That's when I decided to go for OuterMisery instead.

Hey Arc, regarding the loot table topic, the part that impacted your gameplay the most (IMO) is here in Episode 2: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e9KYYL2Bq7OnZoU.htmlsi=SlZpBSMk9fV3g_A-&t=4645 You were fully rested, in good condition and gear, and the weather was nice outside. If you knew where the PV bedroll can be but not the fact that there would never be a bedroll in PV based on hacksaw spawns in your run, I think a player of your caliber would have checked the spots in PV before heading towards the PV-CH transition. But I don't really want to get into this topic again - like you said in your reply to my comment, perhaps you really didn't want to mess with PV on outer and chose to gamble with the ML bedroll instead. So let's just pretend our Astrid here is an inexperienced Outerloper who only knew about the ML bedroll, decided to beeline to it and managed to find it at one of the spawn points :)
@ArchimedesLPАй бұрын
Sorry, didn't see this at first as it was held for review due to the link(don't worry about this in the future as your comments are now pre-approved.) I think you are very likely right. Not to get too deep into rehashing but there are just too many factors to really know for sure. Even just my knowledge of which bedroll spawns are "eclipsed" by others would heavily contribute to a decision to check ML first. And that definitely falls under "arcane loot table knowledge."
