Hi ian, i cant work out your route down into seathwaite? Im looking to start in coniston, down to torver, thru woods around the knott and bridleway along long mire to goats crag then down to seathwaite. Im up there next month, i also bought your book, i have planned a few rides out of it already but it doesnt include the walna scar?
@Lakedistrictrider27 күн бұрын
Yeah the Walna Scar isn't in my book. I think that day I went around Raven's Crag instead of up Long Mire before doing the bridleway North to Seathwaite via The Park Head Road. Good luck, cracking riding around there.

Good video thanks. I've done a short frying pan route from Raven's Lodge a couple of times on my hardtail,continuing south on the bridleway towards the Derby Arms after the dodgy descent above Halecat. Cumbrian e-bikes do a variation on your route missing out the Halecat section but then include the bridleways south of Brigsteer up onto the Helsington ridge beyond the church.All of it a lovely area.

Such a beautiful view what is this trail called is it just Ennerdale trail or what is the car park called please
@Lakedistrictrider2 ай бұрын
I think the car park might be called Bowness Knott. The car park is just next to a hill called Bowness Knott. Then you just follow the track east along the lake and up the valley. Worth having a look on an OS map but pretty easy to find your way up the valley

I live in Glasson Dock, been up and down that track more times than i care to remember 🙂 I always travel to the Lakes and Dales for my rides nowadays, have done for the past 20 years. Such a shame theres not much to do around here. Have you ever done Ouster Rake in the Trough???
