Beautiful ❤. This is one of my favorites. It is played slowed enough to let us feel the deeper tones 🕊️

Es arte puro, no es posible explicar como esta melodia tan melancólica puede ser tan adictiva y hermosa. Al escucharla reviven en mi recuerdos de aquellas personas que ya no están en este mundo, amor, tristeza mezclados en la más bella melodía.

i just came from a video from mr Wilhelm Kempff, saying that he played it the best way i have ever heard. But, i have to change that opinion. This tempo is how it should be played in my opinion. Nevertheless, mr Kempff's version is in my opinion a second First.

Along with Gilels and Barenboim, my favorite version. “The sad part is that I played it to a friend of mine (who used to play classical piano as a kid, not a pro) and absolutely trashed it. He said that is way too slow and the fact he doesn’t stick and honours the score’s time signatures is an absolute disgrace! If I played it like that in front of my piano teacher she would absolutely throw me out of the classroom. You HAVE TO PLAY IT AS IT IS WRITTEN NY BEETHOVEN AND NOT COLOR IT YOUR WAY!!” - his quote. Personally I am not a pianist so I can’t counter argue his point but I love this version and Barenboim’s. I find them so dreamy, so expressive and soulful. I am not saying the faster versions are bad but not to my liking. Is it sacrilege to like something that does not stick to the original Score?

Soppy story, but my parents divorced when I was young, about 8. My parents would fight- really, really, nasty- nothing physical, but screaming and swipes at the air. And some nights, after a fight- late, late at night, my dad would sit down and play this song. And one night, I’d snuck out of bed and was snuggling my mom on the couch in the living room, listening to my dad playing in the other room, and she said, “I’ don’t know how anything so beautiful can come out of someone so hateful”. I’m not sure she should have said that to me, but she was hurting, and it’s always stuck with me, and given this song a special poignancy. My father is unreachably far from guiltless, but at least sympathetic in that he’s always been trapped as a very stubborn, complicated, emotionally quiet man, and I always felt like him playing this was his way of trying to apologize. The meaning has evolved as we’ve all aged (my siblings and I) and played it for each other over the years, in new contexts, and happier places, and it’s a truly beloved piece of the family. And this rendition is just our style- honestly, chef’s kiss So rare to see it played with such feeling and at such a gentle tempo

"I don't know how anything so beautiful can come out of someone so hateful" that words hits me hard, my ex left me yesterday because of my hate but she doesn't understand why I ended feeling that way, she doesn't know the flaming passion I have inside... She told to play this song for her and she would ask me to be her boyfriend, she never understood that she was already my girlfriend but the pain and fear of betray took out all the bad from me, now I only can play it alone and think why am I this way...

One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written, and the late great Arrau presented one of the greatest performances ever recorded. I so much wish I could have played this at my mother's funeral - she herself was so gifted at the piano, but taken so young; I was only eight at the time. But sadly, I still could not perform to anything compared to this magnificent artistry even today.

Sorry, but the first movement of this piece DEMANDS soulful introspection and slow, deliberate consideration. FAR too many "I can do better!" monsters have no idea what the piece is all about.

Maravillosa interpretación. Han surgido en estos tiempos unos intérpretes, "atletas del piano", que tocan las notas con una destreza insólita pero sin alma.
