This is my favorite Godzilla movie of all time. I saw this film when I was 5 years old. It left me with a long lasting impression on me. I have seen all 37 films. I am a Godzilla fan for life.

I love both versions of this movie. One is great rebirth with cold war tension and the other is a fun sequel to king of the monsters starring Dr Pepper. Also super late to this, but to anybody who's trying to buy the blu ray or dvd currently now that it's OOP... i pray for your wallet.

I always thought this film didn't quite work as well as it should have. I had more money and more time but the story itself is rather plodding and portentous. It turned out to be something of a box office disappointment in Japan doing much less business than they expected, and in almost every poll of Japanese fans up to the most recent one in 2023, it finishes as the lowest ranked of the heise era.

You got your facts off, bro. This 84 version is far superior to the 85 re-edit version. Biollante did the worst due to poor promoting methods. I don't know buddy it's top 6 in the heisei era and top 5 from the critics.

This movie went back to starting point .The scene where Godzilla picks up the Shinkansen is also an homage to the first film from 1954.
