Man, Hardrock used to be a moto and mtb riding area, back in the early 2000s. Now it's a 4x4 park, cool. Fellow underground 4runner owner here, but I'm I Colorado now.
@MyProjectsFL2 күн бұрын
I didn't know it was a MTB park at one time, but they had Reddick back in the mid-2000's north of there that was a great MTB park, but it was private and eventually sold, bummer too, it was $1 a day to get in, and just a little over an hour from my house. Hardrock has now been closed since Hurricane Debby, I am hoping it will get some maintenance and re-open. Actually thinking of trying to organize a maintenance day if we have to. Of course, it's $40 per vehicle entry fee, so I kind of think that should be good enough money for them to spend on maintaining it as well, but you know Florida doesn't have a lot fo good ORP's so we gotta keep what we do have. Colorado must be beautiful, I'd love to take my 4Runner out there some time. Thanks for watching.

I’m sitting here with the pile of nuts n bolts wondering where I’m going wrong. Thanks for showing you are left with a bunch!! I didn’t see the 2 brackets for the plastic lower bumper ends. I guess I’ll have to call them Monday to get those shipped out. Lack of updated directions from them is lazy at best. Fairly straight forward install but I wish they’d mark the bags, separated for the hardware. I also don’t know why they sent that plate either

You're very welcome, I always go to KZfaq to see what others do. There were a few people talking about this, but one guy had a 2.5" lift and some others talked about it general terms, but figured people might find more specific information handy. I hope it helps. I do agree with most people that wide tires look cool, but I've always been a form follows function guy, so had to chech this combo out. Thanks for watching.

Nice set up and great video. Was wondering what leveling kit you used, do you have aftermarket UCA’s, did the alignment shop add caster to keep from rubbing and did you do anything to the rear suspension? Lots of questions but appreciate your response.
@MyProjectsFL11 күн бұрын
@@jbt7115 MotoFab level kit. It being just 2", didn't require a aftermarket UCA, those are usually required for 2.5" and up based on my intel. The lift has no impact, good or bad on the rubbing. Rubbing is a result of wheel off set and tire width. Since I stayed with the factory off set and the more narrow tires, I was able to avoid the rubbing. You could put these tires on even if it didn't have the 2" level kit. Now I will likely heat gun the liner because I think there is a possibility of rubbing once I'm off road and putting the suspension through some real work. But street wise it's all good. Thanks for watching.

@@MyProjectsFL thanks for the info. Eventually that will be my set up. So rear is still all stock?
@MyProjectsFL10 күн бұрын
@@jbt7115 Rear is totally stock and I just ordered a 5th tires and bought a TRD Off Road spare rim so I can do a 5 tire rotation. Saw a video where a guy fit the 255/80 in the spot without issue. Also, this allows having the same tire pattern and capability on and off road and while I pay 25% more for tires, I will also get 25% more life out of them...in theory. Plus if I decide to change size or change thread pattern or whatever, the spare will always match.

The only way for hydraulic brakes to 'fail' is if anti-lock steps in and then it's still a controlled brake. Hydraulic brakes work even when the vehicle has zero electrical power; you just have to press harder on the pedal. I have a manual Badlands and tested this out. Even with the battery disconnected I was able to stop my vehicle from rolling down my very steep driveway, let off the brakes and let it gain some speed again then stamped on them again and it stopped in about 4 feet.

Tried installing on a 2023 today. It seems like it does not fit, the small threaded holes do not line up at all, 1/2" off when I put the bottom tabs in place, did you run into this problem? Did I do something wrong?

At that mileage, in your climate I would be using 5w40 or 10w40. You will eliminate blowby.

Your safety brake cable is connected in a dangerous way, that renders it useless. It should be free from all obstructions from the trailer to your truck, so if your tongue and safety chains fail the trailer applies it the brakes to avoid your trailer from continuing on at the speed it was doing.

Why did you choose this bumper?
@MyProjectsFL2 ай бұрын
Two reasons, I liked this one because it looks semi-stock looking...sort of and two and this was secondary, I returned a Bronco bumper to JCR OffRoad and they are the sister company to Victory 4X4, so I got full credit, was able to get this and a rear diff skid plate. That made the deal extra good sort of. JCR would give a return well outside the retrun window, but would only give 75%, no bad really. I liked working with JCR and Victory has basically the same folks working for them. A guy named Josh was my point of contact. Plus, JCR and Victory are American made and good quality. Lots of other good quality items out there as well as tons of cheap PRC junk. My 4Runner is a keeper, so I wanted good quality stuff. I hope that all makes sense, thanks for watching.

The Chinese have been counterfeiting spark plugs for some time. These are not NGK plugs. Buy plugs face to face from national BnM stores or the stealership. Same thing goes for SD cards and USB sticks. 80% sold online are fake. This includes Amazon. In defense of the seller he may be a victim just like you.

It’s funny any other platform and people bash on K&N, and simple muffler systems. I actually had a dyno record a 7hp gain consistently on three different pulls, if you keep them clean, with little oil they do put in work. As for the flow master haven’t tried. But that’s about the only style I’ve ever seen that has borla/magnaflow design giving it great power results for the $$. Video should be called best bang for the buck.

Really good design. I have been doing this kind of thing for years. Consider a flat wall from the edge of the eave on the house up to the rafters. It might look better. If you do, vent the enclosed section with the house. I often bury my drains and use pop up outfeeds at a lower level. The Truss design was fine. single board in tension will not fail fasteners were sufficient.
@MyProjectsFL5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip, there will have to be a fair amount of cutting on the house part to make it work, but you are exactly right, a flat wall with additional lap siding going up the wall to the ceiling will make it look way better. I'm afraid I'm not as close to being done as I had hoped, but it looking better it more important than getting it done quicker. I just hated doing pics and video with my open frame stuff. Framing doesn't need to look pretty, but when it does, it just looks like you know what you are doing better I guess. Hopefully another month or so and I'll have the finished work done. I need to hurry, I have limited "outside time" left in Florida before it becomes an oven again.🤣😭 Thanks for watching.
