Great video man. Something that really caught my eye was the last shot, were everyone is leaving home and starting their day. To me is like linklater saying that the town, the people (and maybe even life) will go on without the caracthers (especially Jeff) doing something with their own lives. And also, there's a time in the movie that jeff wants to tell sooze about going to ny with her because he had a realization. I think that the realization is that he been caught up choosing to do nothing because of the whole 'nothing matters we are all doomed' idea, BUT, since nothing matters and we are all doomed, he might as well do whatever he actually wants, which is be with hes girlfriend. But maybe the point is that if we wait to long, life will pass us by and we will be left behind, complaining, like jeff. Anyways, Cheers from brazil.

@@ColeLikesMovies it was definitely a happy accident but it really does line up perfectly. If they told me it wasn’t an accident I wouldn’t be shocked though. It’s very possible Jason or the writers had a soft spot for this character and leaned into it.

Answer: Yes, it would be alive. You could go sailing with him/her, share a cab during a rainy night, or even fall in love with him/her. If someone suggests that alive means to have a soul, I would just remind him that we do not own a soul, we all are a "soul", we share a world, a universe where we exist and live our lives, and the same way we have bodies and other material "hylic" manifestation of existence, the same way we consist of invisible matter, spirit, magnetism, souls...

In the gothic horror soap opera Dark Shadows, a painter named Charles Delaware Tate had the ability to sketch a person into life. He sketched and then painted a portrait of Amanda Harris who he imagined to be a perfect woman and she popped into being! Just like Pygmalion and Galatea! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊

I just watched the movie recently and I'm so mad at myself for not watching it sooner (I'm 32 at this time for context). While I'm not a punk and never was, I was a teen into alternative aesthetic and alt rock (and later found my love for goth/goth rock) but I always had a casual fascination with the punk scene and I'm sure that teen me would've really enjoyed the movie. I will admit that the message was a tough pill because I do think one can still enjoy punk and dress in it in older age but I do agree and like the sentiment of the movie which is be true to yourself as well as knowing that living with a huge nihilistic view on life does have it's pitfalls. The only thing that would've made the movie solid would've been if we saw Steve-O listening to some Punk music on a CD-Player while he was sitting on a bench to show that you don't have to give up a music style you like as well as to commemorate his friendship with Bob and how he got him into punk) but that's just me lol Overall I enjoyed the movie and can't wait to watch it again in the future haha.

I first was a little pissed at this movie for always mixing up anarchism and chaos. But i think this is kind of the point. Part of the fun is the main characters dont really knowing everything about what they talk about, what they do or what they want most of the time. They are in a process of finding themselves and wildly theorize all over the place. I like to be with with anarchists and left activists in general, but i also find comfort in the nihilism and nonsense of punk and in chaos. It's inside me all the time and when it's around me, i am at peace.

Shane Black was Hollywood's first Rock-n-Roll screenwriter with his updation of the buddy-cop genre fused with Black's 80's spin on neo-noir and pulp detective troupes to create its own genre in and of itself most fans of classify as the Lethal Weapon effect. The 1982 team up film 48 Hours starring Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte predates the Weapon premise and opposites attract concept by five years and for half a decade was considered the gold standard for crime solving protagonist duo. Technically, ahead of its time is the criminal thriller 70'a Freebe And The Bean that predate both 48 and Lethal movies.

I recently watched this for the first time recently and found myself not being able to stand these people. But I realized it’s because I related to the mindset. The fear and pointless in life, but as the years progress I found myself in a more hopeful state of mind. I fully believe you don’t have to move away to achieve your dreams but you have to let the identity that feels so comfortable to die. Let go of those limitations on your own belief systems and take responsibility for what you want to become and most importantly enjoy the ride. Keep reviewing movies!

I thought the rocker was a great movie. And I agree it’s okay to have fun with a movie. We live in a world now of A24 films now that want people to do mental gymnastics to realize the point of the film can be fun too sometimes. The light hearted films of the early 2000’s that make you feel like you went on an adventure with your buddies will always have a special place in my heart though.
