54knots at 5000rpm ??? That seems not right for a 3.5ton boat ? Still plenty of revs left so would pull over 60knots ? Doesn’t seem right for twin 225s . If it is , fuck that’s quick 😂

Yeah, there's another Strachan I know of with older Yam 225's that does the same speed, but maybe not at 5000. Mick comes from a pretty locally famous family of offshore racers so he knows his stuff with speed. I think these have since been chipped and doing 330hp each.

Hi Kevin, thanks for watching mate. That spreader bar is a custom build I designed. Any good stainless guy can make you one to suit your boat and bait board. I still have it, it's come with me across 3 boats and will soon go into a 4th. Paired with a few good quality 3 way racks it negates the need for traditional snapper racks.

It would be a short video. Just ensure you're fishing at least 1 hour before a tide change, 2 is better and stay for at least 2 hours after the change. High or low tide are both good and if you can time them with sunrise or sunset even better.

Hi again. I don’t understand the logic of casting lines out from boat after anchoring up on a spot with marked fish or structure? Wouldn’t the casting out be a away from this? Cameron
@HookedUpTV
@HookedUpTV Жыл бұрын
In Port Phillip no, any structure you may find will be small and when you mark fish on the mud they are constantly moving, they're never sitting still, and the area you're imagining in your head from the sonar image is larger than you're imagining. It's also about bait presentation, the fish wont always go for a bait dropped down on a paternoster rig and you cant really just drop a lightly weighted bait straight down. Also, the bigger fish are often sitting out away from the structure and the school.
@Camh1968
@Camh1968 Жыл бұрын
@@HookedUpTV thanks a lot for this explanation. It never made sense to me before. For PPB fishing, what is your key driver for selecting a location to anchor up, when casting out? Is there an optimal distance you need to cast out? How does a sounder assist in this application then if casting out and away from the image shown on the MFD? Should a paternosta rig always be used when casting out from an anchored boat in PPB when targeting big snapper? Do software apps like RipCharts help at all when fishing for snapper in PPB? This app looks at water temp, up/down Wellings, sea bed contours, etc.? Cameron
@HookedUpTV
@HookedUpTV Жыл бұрын
@@Camh1968 you use the sounder to find the fish and then anchor on them. Then cast out as far as you can in different directions. Don't cast a paternoster just drop it down and cast out the running sinker rig as shown in the video. No Rip Charts wont help. Again, you cast out as the school of fish is much bigger than your boat, the images you're seeing isn't smaller than the boat. The fish are swimming around in a larger area than just below you. Don't over complicate it, find the fish, anchor, berley, cast out, wait for buckles, have fun.

Sorry mate, we don't have a specific rundown on that. You're boat will already be charging the house and start via the engine. It does it more efficiently with a BEP DVSR which is what I installed. As for the MinnKota you can install a separate 12-24v charger that will do it. If you're running a 36v Kota it doesn't work as well but there are other more expensive options you can go for.
