I'd love to see at least one athlete from an African country make the podium in the 100. I think the last athlete to do that was Frankie Fredricks in Atlanta.

I used to train at York University track in the early 1990s and I used to see you training in your grey Adidas unitards most weekday evenings . Last time I met you was at a club called Fusion in early 1993.I cannot ever convey the pleasant shock I experienced when I saw you win in Goternburg in 1995. Then I stayed up until 3 am Central African Time to see you win in Atlanta. Now that I am back home in Africa, I sometimes coach here in Botswana and I know Letsile Tebogo's coach Dos Mosimanyane and just like with you I have watched with incredulity as Letsile Tebogo go from a promising high school sprinter to where he is now. The world is a small place Mr. Bailey .Very good podcast by the way

@@ThunderJuice we think he can .Unfortunately his mum passed away to cancer a couple of months ago. She was a single mum and he was her only child so the bond was close. From a physical standpoint he is ready but the mentality still needs to come. He had his best start and drive phase ever on the weekend but then a lapse in concentration at the 80m mark gave the race to Noah Lyles. If he sorts that out all those times are possible because at practice he is astonishingly fast times wise

@@wynnetg862 There’s no Doubt that DeGrasse is capable of upping his game on the big occasion. He’s done it a few times before. I just think that since Tokyo Lyles has improved to a point beyond his capabilities. Sure I think DeGrasse could run a 19.5 PB maybe, but Lyles is unbeaten since Tokyo and I expect him to run at least 19.3 or 19.4 in Paris which would be too quick for the Canadian.

@@EightFrancs Agree about Richardson winning the women’s 100m. Women’s 200m is a close call between Jackson and Thomas for me though. Simply because Jackson doesn’t look anywhere near the shape she was in last season and there’s question marks on whether or not she has an injury. Lyles will almost certainly win the men’s 200m if he stays healthy. Men’s 100m is a close call between Lyles, Thompson and Seville. I have Lyles as the slight favourite because he’s proven he can pull it off on the big occasion and he’s in great form at the moment.
