Why do recommend morning watering when evening watering enters the ground during the coolest period overnight. Better chance of absorption and avoids sun up flash evaporation ?Doesn't apply on windy evenings but neither does it apply on windy mornings. All the best.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 14 сағат бұрын
When we've got hot evenings adding water increases humidity and with it increases disease pressure.
@saturnfivetwo4
@saturnfivetwo4 14 сағат бұрын
@@LawnRight thats a good point but does the disease increase outstrip the benefits of reduced waterloss in reality. I presume you have witnessed this because in the garden world watering in the morning heading into day is considered an evaporation waste. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Judging by your lawns you could be right 👍

@@saturnfivetwo4 honestly I wouldn't know the answer. It's just what I've always done. In all honesty disease pressure increases anyway through the season so if its going to get red thread it probably will anyway but whatever we can to minimise it is only a good thing

Hello from Turkey. I also have similar bare spots in my lawn. I renovated the lawn in early April and everything was pretty fine. However, in recent weeks some root fungus popped up and I have lost some grass and ended up with some bare spots. Now, I am planning to overseed those areas but main concern here is the need to water it 3-4 times a day during this heat wave. Wouldn’t that frequent watering to keep the seed moist would invite more and more fungal diseases in these hot summer days? Thank you very much in advance.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Күн бұрын
Hi yes it would invite more sadly but with new seeds you don't have much choice. Try to avoid late evening watering and you will increase the success rate 😊

Hi - Quick question. Would weedol for lawns for killing off clover be ok to use after around 6 weeks after the lawn has been seeded? The back lawn I renovated is looking amazing now (albeit similar bare patches) but the front is great too but with clover, so trying to see what can be done to get rid of it in future (I’ll be killing it off next year and starting again). Any advice would be helpful.. :-) Lastly, you are a legend and a great content creator Shaun. Keep up the great work which inspires all of us to better our garden lawns!

@@LawnRight Absolutely Shaun. Just about to invest in a 1250L water storage tank connected to a DAB JetInox 40/80 pump with a distribution valve and remote timers to regulate pumping water for two oscillating sprinklers in the rear lawn and two in the front lawns. Even though I live in Scotland (and we have plenty of rain), I remember when I worked in a garden centre, the head gardener always said even if it rains, you still need to water. Always stuck with me over the years.

Will this stuff help My lawn be the same colour ? Only I have different patches of green at the moment - thanks
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Күн бұрын
Hi, it will green the lawn a bit, but everyone's own version of what its like always differs.. There will be a rate for greening and a rate for moss killing.. eg greening might be 250g on a lawn while moss killing could easily be double or triple that so just make sure you're following the right dosage.. My next video out hopefully Saturday or Sunday shows me applying some iron so watch out for that one

do you have any tips on what sprinklers are good? or best ways to Water Gardens ie tape water vs catch rain water ?
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Күн бұрын
Hi catch rain water is always better, but tap water is ok if left uncovered for a few hours for chlorine to evaporate. Choosing a sprinkler should be based on what shape your lawn is.. a round lawn would benefit from a rotating open while an oscillating one is good for rectangles.. an impulse sprayer is also pretty good
