@bernhard8540 - thank you for pointing this out! I was excited to find an *easy* way to check for authenticity -- it sucks that it doesn't work 100% of the time. For now at least, the fraudsters haven't caught up with this feature.

There are even worse now, instead of several li-ion cells they only have 1 or 2, and bunch of electronics to raise the voltage.

@aleksandarl6975 - wow. This actually is starting to sound scary. Lithium cells are more prone to starting a fire, so we gotta tread lightly.

@@EagleNestFarm I ran across strangely lightweight Makita 12v Li-ion, it looked fake right away, very lightweight, collor a bit off, and the letering not quite right. It was very cheap so i bought it to check. When i took it apart it only had 1 pouch li-po cell inside, i guess high discharge current one, like used in chinese drones, and a circuit board that was both the BMS and raised output to 12v. The drill ran fine, but the battery was not even close to advertised capacity and got empty way faster then the 1yr old original one i had, wich was marked at about half of capacity of the fake one. Electronics inside was poorly made, flux residue everywhere, wires soldered like someone who had seen soldering iron for the 1st time in their life did it. Very unsafe, and was heating up quite a bit when charging.

@@EagleNestFarmFor only about 15$ It was a nice weekend fun to check out and mesure what it realy was that fraudsters came uo with, and i spent 2 days wondering how on earth is it worth to anyone to design and produce bunch of electronics just so that they can put 1 instead of 3 cells inside. They went trough all the trouble of making a case and everything, why not put normal batteries inside and sell it under their own brand as a cheaper replacement is beyod me. I can only hope that someone taking it at face value doesn't cause harm or damage by one of those clearly fraudelent batteries, and that only money lost for buying that junk accounts for all the damage.

@SnailHatan - naaah man, the fakers have gotten pretty good at printing by now 😕 ... You might get some visual cues if you have a fake side-by-side with a genuine, but if you only have a fake battery nothing stands out as obviously wrong.

You are probably grammatically correct, however many people say it either way. Same thing as po-tate-o and po-tot-o, or to-may-to and to-ma-to. One is correct and one is not, but people with different dialects pronounce it differently so it's right to them and that's ok

tools sold on Amazon DO NOT come/w factory warranty . everyone who buys tools knows this
@EagleNestFarm3 ай бұрын
@theraid100 - The problem is not that I bought it online, but that it's a FAKE product, made to look like and sold under the Milwaukee brand in the US. I opened them up and the internal construction was nowhere near as protective as that of a genuine M18, and the 18650 battery cells inside are unbranded chinese cells, probaby running at around 10% of the capacity of the Samsung 25R that Genuine Milwaukee M18s use. Based on the # sold in the Ebay listings, thousands of people have purchased them without ever realizing that they are not genuine Milwaukee products.

@HOHLfmly3 ай бұрын
How do you prevent that from happening? Do they make galvanized fittings?
@EagleNestFarm3 ай бұрын
@HOHLfmly - the only way I know to prevent this is to use a PVC unions (or better yet - a dielectric union, as the other commenter mentioned) in-between the galvanized pipe to the brass valve. Usually you can get all the couplings to be the same type of metal, but specifically for check valves (one-way valves) , I've never seen them made of galvanized - only brass or pvc or stainless steel. If I were to do this now, I'd use PVC.

Is it 10 or 12-gauge? What gauge do you recommend?
@EagleNestFarm3 ай бұрын
It's a tradeoff of extra cost and weight vs extra durability. I can't argue against better durability, but I don't have the details on how much cost and weight it adds to the trailer, so you'd have to make your own decision. My trailer is the standard 12-gauge, because that's what they had in stock at the time. It works well for base rock and 1.5 inch gravel or smaller. For hauling Gabion rocks, I put a few sheets of plywood / OSB at the bottom so it doesn't get beat up and that helped a lot, just saw a couple small dimples after. I would have probably used plywood even with the 10 gauge walls/floor though. I wouldn't haul larger than gabion rocks in this trailer.

No salt means no shelf life, I bet it’s so tasty that doesn’t even matter though! Also if you want to save money you can go to a local butcher and get a cheap cut sliced up! Would be near half the price :)
@EagleNestFarm4 ай бұрын
You're 100 percent correct. This is yet to sit in the fridge for more than 2 days before being eaten :) I actually add salt later, but the Kirkland "no-salt" spice is absolutely awesome for jerky. My impression is that commercial jerky is usually made from a lot cheaper cut of meat, and the sugar is used as a tenderizer + candy flavor. With a nicely marbled cut, you can get away without tenderizing it.
