@@rudychacon7175 I'd maybe screw a 2x4 laid flat to the front end of the plywood with some 1 5/8 inch wood screws and put some 3 inch self tapping metal screws through from the outside of the front of the trailer into the 2x4. Pre drill the steel to make it easier.

Its a sump trailer its gonna get scratched on the inside. Why drill holes in it

I never considered a gooseneck. It seems overkill for a 10k gvwr trailer and the truck pulls it easily with the hitch even when loaded beyond what it calls for.

Yes. I would buy the same size. It's a little added weight, but I haven't found any downsides apart from that!

@@EagleNestFarm I was planning on ordering one, but I keep flipping back and forth between the 10 gauge and 12 gauge. The only reason I can see to purchase the 10 gauge is for river rock if it’s getting dropped from above 4 feet or if you are owning a compact utility tractor like a TYM 474, which I don’t? A lot of times the river rock is in a 3,000 super bag in which case you don’t need the 10 gauge. My wallet says 12 gauge and my mind says 10 gauge. I was planning on getting the 24” side, I’m not sure if I will regret it later? Did you get them with the ramps? I know it adds weight and I will probably never use them, but I think it’s nice to have them but it adds like 200 pounds.

@@mitchellkasdin1899 As far as I know, these trailers always come with the ramps. The ramps are well designed, they tuck away underneath, and I doubt you'd ever regret having them. The taller sides are good when hauling lighter stuff, like manure or wood chips. You don't want to overdo it, because you'd start finding it harder loading things from the side with a compact tractor, especially if you add an extra board on top as they recommend. 10 vs 12 gauge - tough call. I have the thinner gauge trailer and I'm planning on adding plywood on the sides and bottom to haul gabion rocks and boulders. We'll see how this goes!

⁠​⁠@@mitchellkasdin1899 I’m in the same boat right now. I’ve been going back and forth with my local dealer over these same issues. I’m pretty sure I’m going to go with the 10ga in a 5x10x32 with board brackets, in the MDT model. After spec it out multiple ways, I think I’ll still be ok on payload at around 7000, with the trailer weighing in at about 2900-3000, with the GVWR rated at 10,000 (9890). My plan is multi-use with this build in my lawn care business. Have you purchased your trailer yet?

Yes. This is probably the biggest dump trailer that is practical to tow with a half ton truck.

@@cryptoglenn it's power up, gravity down. Apparently all these telescoping 3 stage lifts are gravity down.

@@cryptoglenn I can't think of any downsides to gravity down in actual usage. There are downsides to power down if you happen to run out of battery and can't get the thing to retract.
