Thank you so much. I couldnt see properly in my blind spot, I bought some blind spot mirrors and this video really helped me to use them effectively and prevent accidents on the road. Thank you.

9:08 I have a problem at this point in the removal of the old alternator. I removed the wiring harness from that bracket behind the alternator, but at the same time, two wires came disconnected and I didn't know from where. One is white and one is black. After getting everything reassembled, the car won't start.... Any ideas?
@trackpalmer7 күн бұрын
You said wires. Do they have connecting ends? Did you eventually replaced the alternator and reconnect the wire going to the battery?

If you can't polish out any sctratches of a soft Toyota with S20, you are a realy bad polisher! And if the video isn't speed up, the answer is yes, and you also do to less passings. I easyly polishd out some sctratches on a hard vw and get nice gloss with S20 and medium/soft pad. On a Toyota I probably will get rid of 90-95% of all sctratches with S20 and the right foam pad

I am finally getting around to this project but some of the links you provided are no longer active. I'm thinking I'll go back to electric. Do you recommend aftermarket or Toyota? I see some people are saying the aftermarket parts have problems. Thanks!
@trackpalmer13 күн бұрын
I’ll update the links
@BobC5914 күн бұрын
Some of the links no longer work. Oh well, I was going to do what you did before - convert to manual - but since you are gong back to electric - and my wife uses her Highlander a lot - I'm opting for the OEM struts. I know they are higher, but some reviewers have said the aftermarket ones pop out of socket and damage the car. Maybe they did something wrong or maybe not? If I don't hear back from you on this soon, I'll pay up for the Toyota parts and do it myself. Thanks!

i don't like KYB they are gas you hit one pot hole too hard and the gas leaks out you have a pogo stick. they are more expensive and are smooth but not that durable. i have Gabriels and they are good moog were ok i may go with monroe next they are more of a 40k mile strut the Gabriel are like 60k

Thanks for the insights of transmission gear maintenance. My highlander is the 2006 model, with these specifications: 1 v6 2 wheel drive 3. 13 pins transmission gear 4 engine type, VVT 3.3 5. FAULT transmission gear slipping and slowing down when heatef. Hope to hearing from you in solving my problems. Cost involved. I am from kumasi, Ghana, west Africa. Thank you

Great video! I used it just now to change out the plugs on my wife’s car. One note of CAUTION…do NOT use an impact driver on the spark plugs! The vibration can crack the ceramic insulator and you can end up with ceramic bits going down into the combustion chamber. I had this happen, but luckily found the cracked bits before the plug was removed so I was able to clear them out.

@trackpalmerАй бұрын
Were yours as rusty as mine?
@MKArnold001Ай бұрын
Not at all. Tried to just take off the shock without taking off the mounts, total waste of time. Nuts wouldn’t budge at all. Mounts came off relatively easily, put them in the vise so I could get a breaker bar on them, no further problems. My Highlander only has ~140K on it, but the seals were leaking on one shock and one strut. Watched your video for the struts, had them changed out in just under two hours. Bent my breaker bar getting the lower struts off. Not surprising though since I had to use a three foot extension (2” pipe) to get them to break loose. What I appreciate most about your videos is you show how to get them off worst case scenario. Mentally preps you for how rough it can be, then you’re happy when you don’t have to use a torch and nut breaker (I own and have used both :-) ) to do the job. Plus, you’re straight to the point; no distracting background music and no dragging out the video to 30+ minutes. Excellent. Subscribed.
