I was replacing my 05 magnum valve cover yesterday and didn’t get the main vacuum line into throttle body. Shit was running rough and I was so confused because I thought everything was plugged in. Gave that metal line a extra push and it went in how it originally was and runs like a charm

Did this work for you? I did these exact changes on a 2009 dodge charger 3.5L an now I’m having the exact same problem, the rough idle and shaking is so bad that I cant even drive the car or let it run longer than 30 seconds to check the engine

UPDATE: another video coming soon of a heater hose leak at the compression connector. The auto parts recycle yard I frequent told me that they got quite a few great running Grand Ams, Grand Prix’s, Sunfires, Cavaliers and others just from a bad coolant leak at the heater hoses alone. Imagine junking a car all due to a bad coolant heater hose connector!!!..😳🤦🏽♂️ !!!!

I have a Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.1 it leaks only when I have it parked in the garage and I see a little coolant on the ground but When I drive it around and park it no leak.

UPDATE: 4 years of use alternating two batteries when needed and it’s STILL GOING STRONG. I passed it in to a friend and he uses it daily. Next review will be the BAUER series from Harbor freight. 👍🏽

What is the actual part you changed was it the throttle body or the plug thats connected to it that he was moving?

It’s pretty clear in all that I’ve stated… there wa nothing wrong with the throttle body! It’s the plug.harness that plugs INTO the throttle body. AS STATED in the vid 👍🏽

It was broken. The first sign that they broken is rough idle and loose shifting while driving. Also, they appear smashed down and that just comes with experience, noticing that they are smashed.

Did you notice a difference from just changing the strainer? Did you change out the filter below the strainer ?

The strainer is the filter in the fuel tank, at the bottom of the fuel pump. The stainer has a fiber filter covering it.

Yeah, it’s not necessary to have it on. Every rack & axle shop removes them and most don’t recommend them unless you do extensive towing. Even then it’s not needed. Of course you’ll find guys that won’t stray from OEM specs and will swear they need to be replaced if bad. Imo it’s just one more thing that can go wrong that wouldn’t if it were not even there.

The actual fuel filter is a section of the assembly just above the strainer, it costs around $20 USD.

You can actually reach the single bolt if your reach around the pan. I used a 1/4 ratchet/socket.

My crank pulley is off 1/8 inch belt hangs off front and 1 rib ripped off. Is there a way to shim the pulley? i have same 93.

Sorry I missed this question. In my experience the pulleys come out of line due to the locking wedge needing replaced or reset. I’ve only seen it happen 3-4 over 30 years though. That might be what you had happen.

You can replace that the bushing but they are hard to track down. Toyota isn’t the most helpful in doing this but a good Toyota dealer parts/service counter will help you find them.

The customer parked too close to a parking block stop. When she pulled away it started to pull the bumper cover off. Shortly after that someone slammed on their brakes in front her and she got their rear bumper so it was done with. Replacing it was the best option. She had it cleared and kept it black. She liked it as well.
