Just did one of these. As he said, the left side mount actually had longer threads so be careful when ordering because often times they will have the same part number. Great video!

Helped a lot to prepare to change these out on my friends mustang. The trans mount will also be getting changed. Along with lots of suspension parts. Vid helped to confirm I was looking up right parts cuz I don't know this car, but I'm fixin to learn lol ... Thanks!

Hii. I have a question, I bought some mounts on eBay and it said they were for my 07 v6 4.0 mustang (convertible if it makes a difference) and they look different than the ones in this video.. did yours look the same as the ones in the video?

Karen Grijalva 〈3 hi. My mounts were the same as the ones in the video. I have a 2012 v6.

@@KareBearxx You May have gotten mounts for a different model of Ford. These mounts are for the v6 & v8. If they do not look like these I would return them for the correct mounts.

I had to take off my driver's side engine mount (the one he only had to loosen). My 4.0L also had the same bolt length, and the new mounts looked the exact same on both passenger and driver's side. I have them installed and they're working fine.
@MyLifeThai3713 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I just finished changing the motor mounts out on my 2005 Ford Mustang with the 4.0L engine. I took out the transmission mount bolt just in case and I ended up having to totally remove the drivers side bracket. I tried just loosening it like you did, but I just didn't have enough clearance to get the old mount out without totally removing the bracket. Keep up the good work!
@NoDidddy3 жыл бұрын
Why did you swap out? Vibrations?
@MyLifeThai3713 жыл бұрын
@@NoDidddy The inside of the cab is so noisy I have to wear earplugs. I thought the rumbling from the engine is transferring through the motor mounts into the chassis then into the cab. It did not fix the noise in the cab. I had already checked the car for exhaust leaks by hooking the exhaust on a shop vac into the tailpipe with duct tape and spraying windex on all the joints and manifold gaskets. No exhaust leaks. Don't know why it is so loud in the cab???

Yeah, depending on how you do it you may need to remove the mounting “wing” brackets. I’ve had to do it that way before. Sometimes you need more room as different brands of engines mounts have taller/longer mounting bolts.
@dooby1445 Жыл бұрын
@@MyLifeThai371 These mustangs don't come with much sound deadening, so they're loud. I installed sound deadening myself and I'm glad I did. Probably about 2 hours to strip out the interior of the car, and 3 sounds to install deadening all around it. About $60 off Amazon.

Where can I possibly find the cap under the motor mount currently replacing the motor mounts on my 05" 4.0 stang the one that we took out didn't have the cap on one side?????
@WarPonyAuto3 ай бұрын
You can go to Ford and they can either order it for you or give you apart number for it. I had a hard time finding it myself.

Great presentation and it sure makes it seem easy peasy that is until i get to it. I have a base 2005 mustang deluxe and only passenger side needs replacing as when you place car in reverse the sign of engine kick is visible however driver side after inspection shows its still strong. Plenty of room on passenger side but my fear is how high to jack up engine and if i should just go ahead and remove or loosen mounting bracket to allow access in removing the passenger side mount? Any guidance would be great,,,,thanks
@WarPonyAuto2 жыл бұрын
You will want to loosen the transmission mount and Jack the engine in an area where it actually rises higher on the side of the mount that you need to replace. Go slow and check everything as you jack up the engine, I.e. hoses, wires etc.

I have a 05 mustang v6. It has an annoying loud rattle noise when I step on the brake at a stop sign it red light. I changed the harmonic balancer the transmission was completely inspected there are no loose pulleys or anything it’s all nice a tight. But the rattle is there. Do you think it may need new motor mounts to fix that rattle noise? It is a 15 year old mustang with 238k miles on it.
@WarPonyAuto2 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed! Change your engine mounts and transmission mount. Use a fuel system cleaner as well. Most of the time that harsh rattle, shaking/vibration is the engine/transmission mounts wearing out. Changing them will eliminate that probability in the “process of elimination”.

I just purchased a 2005 Mustang 4.0 with only 47,000 miles. Probably due to the age of the vehicle I’m having to replace both motor mounts. Going to replace the transmission mount as well, why not

Hi, my son has a 2007 4.0 with 180,000! The struts were replaced, tie rods, control arms, etc...the noise over bumps have diminished but still has a faint loose feel over bumps??? Could this be the engine mounts? We were thinking maybe the sway bar bushings. Thanks
@WarPonyAuto4 жыл бұрын
It very well could be. You would notice the shaking at idle if the engine mounts are bad. If you are getting odd shifting I would check both motor mounts as well as the transmission mount. Bad sway bar links/bushings will give a "loose" type of feeling over bumps. I would inspect all the above. Get an alignment as well. A reputable shop can help you fins the issue and would recommend changing out anything that needs replacing prior to doing the alignment.

Rob Volpi try the sway bar bushings! I changed them on mine and it got rid of that sound completely

Why did you change the motor mount? The motor mount is doing something Making a noise ?
@WarPonyAuto3 ай бұрын
It was broken. The first sign that they broken is rough idle and loose shifting while driving. Also, they appear smashed down and that just comes with experience, noticing that they are smashed.

If you have the right tools and basic mechanical know-how it is. I've done so many that it's methodical. The V6 & V8 are just a tad different but basically the same technique.
