How marvellous. The truth is that the varnish that I used to put on wood in the 70's, 80's and 90's is a horror. This varnish leaves a beautiful natural colour.

Question about the old nails. I have an old house (1880’s) nails in the floor that have come up, I nail them back down and a few months later they are back up again. Like the movement in the floor has made the nail holes larger, now the nails can’t get any purchase. What do you do to stop the nails from poking through the new finish?

everything looks good but I hope you dont throw those sanding belts away after only looking like that... you can clean them easy and get that shit off and it takes 30 seconds tops.

When i was in flooring i helped demo a carpet for a new carpet install and there was beautiful signed hardwood from the 1920's that we had to staple pad down to it felt like a crime against the hardwood.

Why in the world would you go to all that work and exhaustion of the labor intensive work that that is and that pull up the quarter round and the baseboard and make it go all the way to Through and do the drywall and then put the quarter round and the baseboard back down or put new to match the incredible workmanship that taken care of the hours that it takes to restore that floor?
