Hi, thank you for watching. I'm 180 odd with an inside leg of 32, I had lots of bend left in knee and could stand up and the sear was a few inches below - flatfooting both feet. I'd say a 30 inside leg should be ok. But I'd sit on one and confirm. It's a really light bike and one leg should not be any weight - but again, please sit on one. I still miss the bike and was one of my best I've had. Hope it helps 👍

Nice to see you out enjoying your "road of death" on the new Himalayan Quinnster. The bike sounds quite nice and I notice that you don't have the flickering dash issue that Itchy Boots had when she rode one. Looks like they must have changed the screen refresh rate on the production models, which will be a great relief to all moto-vloggers who intend buying the 452. Looking forward to trying one for myself but as previously mentioned, the 411 most likely suits my needs better than the 452 👍🏻 For anyone who rides their Himalayan mainly on the roads, the 452 should be a worthwhile upgrade ( plus you don't have to spend the 500-1000 squid to kit it out with all of the off-road bits, thus making it a bit of a bargain ! ). I'm just relieved that you didn't drop it or have some such other calamity. I was worried about that. I wonder why ? 😂 Good job buddy and thanks for the ice cream guide 👍🏻 Garry & Ruby

Thank you for watching! There are quite a few reasons I'm getting this, it's specific to RE, the garage is less than a 15 min walk from work so servicing is easy, I have purchased a few bikes from this place so I've a good relationship there, I've got a good network so I get cheap parts from India (e.g. rear plate there is £20 not £90 as here), we are a RE family - everyone has always had a RE and my other bike is a bullet - I have Honda's too but my bullet I'm in perfect sync with so I'm biased towards RE. I've had a Chinese 125 and it was a disaster with my gear leaver falling off mid turn and then when trying to sell it a few weeks later only being offered 20%of what I paid for it. I'm never touching a chinese bike again, also my personal beliefs, free Tibet! Ktms are too frantic, I'm 45 and a slow plodder and the RE is comfortable and calmer to ride. Hope it outlines my thoughts. Take care mate😊👍

I enjoyed the review, nice to see it being ridden in an urban environment rather than all the marketing led reviews I've seen! I'm considering one of these, i don't need it to go on trails just commuting (urban) and country lanes with the odd trip along dual carriageway. I normally like streetfighter style naked bikes but the state of our roads is appalling and i feel like something like this would be a good place to start. The lean angle on the side stand is quite alarming but may actually benefit me being only 5ft7 and 30 inside leg. Again, nice review and a sensible test ride.

Would be interesting to get your comparison on the gold leaf we sell here and see how it differs? I'm curious but haven't gotten around to it yet! I've had an old klr650 for a few years when I used to live in south America. The klr had power there but it was slower, heavier and not as eager as the 450. The 450 feels well built and is more agile, also lighter steering than the KLR. The klr can be loaded up with quite a lot and keep on chugging! Had hay bales and sheep on the back of mine and it chugged on. Not sure the 450 would like that! If I could I'd get one but it was my first big bike and I did so many crazy adventures on it I'm nostalgic! But would be interesting to see how they compare. Thanks for watching and take care 😊👍🍦

A very good conclusion there Quinn. I think you got it spot on. Unfortunately I don’t think that it’s going to be the big mile muncher that many people hoped it would be, but for those with more of a road bias to their riding, this does constitute a significant upgrade to the 411. If off-road is what you predominantly do with your Himalayan, stick with the 411. If you mainly ride on faster roads and need more headroom, upgrade to the 452. If you want to tour Europe, both the 411 and 452 could do it but you’d probably be better off and have a better time with a larger bike with at least one more cylinder 👍 It now seems inevitable to me that a 650 Himalayan will come. That would add genuine touring capability to this style of bike. Excellent conclusion, top job👍 Cheers Quinn, Garry

It's quite sad that the vibrations that come on the bike are around the 70mph mark. Above and below those speeds is quite smooth. I'm going to have a month solo in Spain this September travelling around and I think it's going to be ideal for that. @@quinnpeaksbiker These days I don’t tour two up, that’s what I bought the Pan European for originally. Five hundred miles on the Autobahn is my idea of hell. I don’t like doing it in a car let alone on a motorcycle. In fact despite touring extensively my 500X has only been on two motorways since I bought it in 2021 and both were less than 1 km. The first was to cross the Loire on the most convenient bridge and the second was to bypass Issoire, saving a 5km detour through the town centre. I too am heading down to Spain soon, to spend some time around Soria. There won’t be any motorways used on that trip either.

@@bulthaosen1169 I don’t agree. Blasting down motorways has nothing to do with sports touring. Sports touring is having a motorcycle that is designed to carry you and your gear over long distances but is still a dynamic ride that allows you to enjoy the route. Adventure touring to me is having a motorcycle that allows you to leave paved roads as and when you want. Motorway riding is something that too many motorcyclists seem to think has to be done. Hi, thank you for watching. The airflo was clear and it wasn't bad in the helmet without earplugs in. With plugs for a longer run I'd imagine it quite comfortable. For the levers I found them comfortable as were compared to the bullet and Transalp as they were wider and my fingers fell into the wedge shape so they sat well. I own one completed 1750kms. It can easily do 120kmph(75mph, more than legal motorway speed in UK?) all day long. It gets smoother as you cross 130kph and can do 150kph without much effort. Post that it will take some time to catch speed but over 160kph is possible (100mph). So I don’t think motorways will be a problem. The stock super meteor 650 will be a better highway machine, but then the moment you go to broken roads it struggles because of its much stiffer suspension with much lower travel. The other two 650s have a sub par suspension set up and will not be stable at motorway speeds, the engine can hit those speeds but the bike will not be able to keep up.

Hi Gregor! Thank you for watching! The vibes here quite strong at 6k rpm, after 7 it reduces. Before there are spots where there is nothing. So at 30mph in 4th, 40mph in 4th at 50 in 5th, it's finding the right gear combination. The engine sounds like there should be vibrations but there are none to little in the seat, foot pegs or handlebars. I have carpel tunnel so I was quite concerned about it. But the ride by wire does not keep tension in the handle so that strong pull is not there all the time making it quite comfortable and easier than the Transalp. I rode it for 3 hours and did 60 miles. I only used 1/3 if the footage I had and might release another video with the rest of the riding soon. I ordered the white as I asked for TUBELESS. Tubeless is only available in black rims. The black and gold model I was riding was TUBED. Gold rims are TUBED only. That's the reason I went with the white as it looked better with black rims and I decided a more visible bike was better - also the black was marking very easily and the white was feeling a little more resistant. Thank you for asking, good things to clarify! Take care my friend 🙏😊🍦

@@quinnpeaksbiker Aha, I see. Thanks a lot. I think that even those vibes that were present will be reduced after time, at last at some extent after the proper break-in. Oh, I read that some are with tubes. Ok, then the black rims are the only solution, but OK. If so, my pick would be the brown one. I think the brown one is also the cheapest among them. Yours has a bit higher price, but I am not sure how much. Thanks a lot bro. I plan to try it next week. :)

@@RRRRefuelRideRace here in the UK the tubeless are 6250 white or 6300 black, the tubed are about 5700. It's basically 500 difference. Hope it helps 🙏

The extra power and gear will certainly be very welcome 👍 Not sold on the TFT. I'm sure it will feel vibration-free compared to the 411... 😅 Lucky boy! Thanks for the nice review I recognise those roundabouts 😂

Thank you for watching! The TFT was clear most of the time tbh, I didn't like the indicator too much as it's tiny and one turn I didn't switch it off it didn't really get my attention. I think it's going to make a good travel bike but not going to keep up with a bigger bike on the motorway, especially the Deauville😂 Also almost no accessories available at the moment! I think most will be available by September.

Thank you for watching! I think as long as I keep in mind what it's not, I'm going to be good. I don't really blast about, unless ice cream is involved 😜 overall time will tell and I think it's looking positive 😁🍦🍦

Does the temperature gauge show the right temperatures? Because the 411 thermometer is trash. 😂

I think the environment temperature was about right, I didn't play much with the settings, but hopefully do something more comprehensive when I get it! The build quality is good, everything feels quite solid

Thanks Quinn 👍 Didn’t realise that this one was out already, somehow lost track of time. I think I was almost sober by the time I dropped you off but only just 😂 Was still feeling slightly fragile but the big British Isles breakfast was a massive help. We shall repeat this next time you’re here 😜👍

Thanks ER, I think there has been an issue with this release, it's not been showing up on peoples page, not sure how to remedy it! But have my MOT this Friday as as long as it's not chuckin it Down, should get a video or two out of it! But thank you so much again, you have been a brilliant sport throughout and can't wait for a repeat, without cameras 😂😂😇😇😇

Great interview with a very popular KZfaq creator. I spent 3 nights in Mojàcar Playa on my trip last October, when the area of Almeria well and truly got under my skin. I'm looking forward to this year's trip out there, and letting Garry show me a few roads/trails I didn't find last year. This was good to watch. Cheers. 😎

Thanks Martin. This was grumpy ER, desperately trying to sober up in time to bring Quinn to his pre-arranged pickup point at the allotted time 😂 It didn’t help that we spent two hours that morning trying to get Quinn a data SIM card, each time without success. We kept failing at the final hurdle, which wasted a lot of time. I wanted to take him down the road to Carboneras but the whole SIM card odyssey meant that we ran out of time 😂 Cheers Martin. Fancy a good night out in Mojacar when you’re over here ? 🤪

Oh well, Carboneras will still be there for Quinn's next visit Garry. I don't think I'll be too bothered about a SIM card in October, but it'll certainly make a pleasant change having someone to drink with, so yep, looking forward to it. 😎

@@martintraffordmoorlandbike7121 Sweet. We'll have to coordinate nearer the time. I am always up for a day or two in Mojacar, makes such a nice change from my usual village life ! A good night out followed by a nice day's riding sounds like a real treat 👍🏻 Let's make it happen ! Cheers Martin, Garry
