Exeter Rider and Saddlebags are such great people. There's some great people in this motorcycle community. Sounds like the farmer was a decent sort too. Glad you still made it to Scotland. Lovely storytelling and editing, so deserving a wider audience.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the KZfaqrs in the South West are top people. You saw the best bit of Cornwall, the toe, you met Saddlebags 73 and Exeter Rider and you got to see Scotland with your kids. You CANNOT say better than that.

Absolutely 0 fail here, apart from the insurance company, and that is not your fault... this is just all adventure! Sometimes this is how things go. You did it, you had fun - that's the main thing, and as you found out its not an adventure until stuff happens. Glad you enjoyed Scotland, you can pretty much see my town from the castle, I am just over the water in Fife.

Cars, trains and a broke down motorcycle...... outstanding. Let me know if you plan on visiting Lands End on two wheels again. I managed to get Helmet Head most of the way there, I'd be happy to offer the same 'guiding' service to you, at the very least we can get you into Saddlebags territory.

Nice project bike if restoring to standard, my bikes are triumph tiger 800, Kawasaki J300, Kawasaki ZZR600 & Kawasaki Z750. If after April 1st give me a shout if you fancy a meet up and ride out around some of the less well known roads of Derbyshire. Grindleford cafe by station is my favourite spot for breakfast, if you haven’t been there you are missing a great stop off
