I think I'm alone on this one, but I really prefer installing the motherboard before installing all of the components. Otherwise, you're trying to handle a very unwieldy block of several components and fit them carefully into the io shield. Having the motherboard installed first also makes it totally stable so that when you install the RAM and the cpu fan, the motherboard doesn't move around on you. Really cool build, and I also like that you're changing some of the topics of your videos. Definitely worthwhile to cover more than laptops. Let's see some monitors, more keyboards etc.
@MashITTech

If I am installing in a large case then I also put the motherboard in first and add the components. The only reason I do it this way on small ITX builds is it can be fiddly putting the components once inside a cramped case. And thanks mate, we are trying to change it up a bit this year as I really miss doing PC builds plus laptops have been really boring this year! I am also working on a new keyboard review as we speak and I have a couple of tiny PC's to review too! And I do want to get into monitors but need to up my equipment to be able to test them in a more professional manner

Not bad. The problem as always are the peripherals mouse screen keyboard. As a setup it's options are limited. I can only imagine it used between work and home. Forget holidays and airport. You will always fear giving it in the airport luggage.
@MashITTech
@MashITTech 10 сағат бұрын
That is very true, I have mine down to a tiny keyboard, mouse and mobile screen which is handy from home>office>Friends etc but I wouldn't want to set it up in a coffee shop or airport lounge. But the plus side over a gaming laptop is noise, this is so quiet even with a 300w 4080 super where as all the gaming laptops with a much lower wattage CPU and GPU will still be hitting 50db which I hate

Great video as always. I believe the RAM cap to 5200 is the 13th Gen mobile CPU and not Dell. Apparently, most of the Dell 13th Gen laptops would support 5200 DDR5 (i.e. XPS 15 and 17, Alienware, etc.) but some XPS owners have stated that early 2024 BIOS updates from Dell have knocked the RAM speed cap back down to 4800!! They may do the same with the G16 or it may just be the thinner XPS, so be careful not to waste money on 5600 Fury when you may be better off just upgrading with extra 4800 speed memory.

Bought the "EWENT RGB Notebook Cooling Stand" 2-big + 2-small fan cooler for 30 Eur 2-3 years ago. It did an amazing job cooling my devices. It started dying after it got hit during my move so I went online to buy a replacement. ...Now its equivalent (just another brand) is out of stock on Amazon and its price is 50 Eur when it's available (same for alternatives). ...And now this one, with much higher noise, a cheap-for-manufacturer foam pad and dust filters...is being sold for 150 Eur (120 after one applies all possible discounts). And this one doesn't even look that good, with its cheesy "gamer"/Alienware aesthetic. What the hell is going on? What amount of mental gymnastics excuses a 4x-5x price hike?! The older gen models should have a lower price now, and they should have been replaced by improved variants for e.g. 60 Eur. But instead they increased the price of older units "because they are still great" and then bumped the price of innovative variants to ridiculous numbers "because people spend thousands on laptops nowadays" (as if that then gives Llano a reason to also charge a ridiculous price for a chunky piece of plastic, basic controllers, a basic USB hub, some RGB lights, dust filters and a loud-AF fan). This is ridiculous. We are literally going backwards market-wise.

It really is very straightforward and you can add me on insta and start a chat if you need help. Also since releasing this video there are some good single sided 4tb SSDs so it would be very easy to add just a second 4tb drive now (becareful as some 4tb drives are double sided like the SN850x and Seagate firecuda)

What laptops would you recommend for £1000 or slightly more? I want to be able to game and video edit and that's about it. It should have a GPU (hopefully Nvidia 40 series), CPU (Ryzen or Intel 14th gen), 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD? I know its a bit ambitious but is there any particular laptop that can be attained for this price point.

This video is starting to convince me that this is a decent option to pursue. I'm holding out for the ROG Ally X. If the ergonomics are improved, I'm on board with this type of setup since it'll now have USB 4 connectivity. I'd be curious to see more benchmarks from a wide suite of games with fps measured at native resolution in handheld mode vs the fps at 1440p in desktop mode on the 3060ti.

You should have tested it without the foam insert. It would be interesting to see how much it helps. I'd say a fair bit, because of the positive pressure. I was looking for something like this, but unfortunately it's not a common design yet. Settled on DeepCool U PAL. I don't need much additional cooling after PTM and thermal putty was applied to the laptop.

First of all, thanks so much for your review and be the light for all of us that we are worried to know if the 96 will work or not. As I could read, you finally decided to get back to the Fury Ram, which I purchased thanks to your other review. Your decission was regarding the speed as I could understand, is it right? Only this? You could see some delays in heavy workloads? I use after effects, premiere, illustrator, photoshop and 3D model and from my ignorance, I feel that 96 will be better than 64. Again, thanks so much for your time and help!

How are the Stabilizers out of the box? I have a Keychron Q1 V2 and my god the Stabs were horrible out of the box. I have no idea why we don’t have pre-holee modded generously lubed stabs out of the factory by now. Ticking and Rattle on stabilized keys needs to be solved, absolutely maddening how terrible it tends to be on extremely well reviewed boards. Thanks for the review! I know you commented on this briefly towards the end of the video but I would love if you guys maybe could go into this more in the future and possibly even disassemble the stabs.
