Zora canonically dies in world to create the guiding lands, as do some of the other large siege monsters like dalamadur, but there are instances like Goldbeard Caedeus, which could prove the fact that there are sometimes much older specimens, which survive seemingly extinction level events.

Safi isn't a black dragon, he's a first class hazard monster but not considered as a black dragon (just like Disufiroa and Mephistorphellin from MH Frontier and Online).

But afaik Capcom exclusively grants the "COLOR Dragon" titles to stupidly powerful Elders, and it wouldn't make sense to make a "All White Dragons explained" video, so you might aswell throw him at the end of this video like Safi

Alatreon was probably In the secluded valley to destroy possible safi'jiiva eggs, which is why when the get there its all frozen then alatreon changes the temperature very quickly to destroy possible living organisms in safi'jiivas home. alatreon didn't want it reproducing as it is known that it is very well capable of doing so, evident by the several xeno'jiiva cocoons in the secluded valley bottom floor, safi'jiivas presence disturbed two powerful black dragons (fatalis and alatreon), its the reason why we have to fight fatalis and alatreon, and very well proves that safi'jiiva is probably equal in power to both of them, which also explains why Alatreon didn't want safi to reproduce

Frontier has it's own Dangerous First Class Monsters in Merphistophelin and Dhisu Fiora. Merphi is like Alatreon and can control every element, while Dhisu can control it's own unique element known only as "Frozen Seraphim" which is a combo of Ice, Fire, and Dragon all at once.
