I’m American and I think the problem lies in that we perceive British accents as “proper” and that clashes with how we define hip hop culture. There is absolutely nothing proper about hip hop. It’s street and raw. I agree that there’s also the issue of different slang as well. I knew none of the words on your list. Most Americans would think it’s cool to hear a British rapper featured on an American artist’s track, but an entire project would be too much.
