So how exactly does the handicap work…even if your score a 82 once in your life on a par 72 that makes you a +10?

There is a bit more to it - but essentially its the average of your best 8 rounds of golf out of your last 20. So if you're a streaky player then your handicap could seem a bit lower than you may expect (hence Conner Lately) and if you're more consistent around the same scores your handicap may seem higher than you would expect (like Adam). Hope that helps!

It actually fluctuates just like above it’s based on 8-10 last scores so if you get in slump can go up by a bit if you stay consistent on average then that’s your score kinda like to say if you shit 80 8 in a row it probably average 2 strokes lower to a 78 because of consistency and you bring on verge average of being lower

Clearly not many golfers in the chat. That ball looks to be in the trees, probably hitting something, so obviously it won't carry 276, but if not an estimation would be around that number. Also, check the ballspeed, clearly he can move it, even on bad hits 😂

@@divotdudes Official shot data shows the top 21 PGA players all have an average carry above 300 with Mcilory leading at 307.4 (317 total distance.) Same with the LIV golfers. The stats are about the same with Dechambeu leading the pack.

@@twotimer6731 Considering 156 guys are competing at the start of The PGA Championship as an example, don’t you think taking only the top 21 guys on the driving distance stat sheet is taking an even smaller sample size to prove a point? Tour average is 291(total, not carry). I wouldn’t mind being as good as Morikawa who sits below average on driving distance but finished 4th in The PGA Championship, just food for thought.

@benvw7533 Morikawa is an anomaly. Most major winners these days are above average in driving distance. There is a strong correlation with driving distance and scoring on the PGA Tour
