i think matt and trey did not represented trans people bcs they did not came up with anything funny for the episode, since its kinda sensitive subject and i think forcing them to do it would be bad idea.

Actually, George Takei was against the idea of Sulu being gay, so he didn't want it to be like that in the first place.

Kaitlyn Jenner is depicted visually the way she is to make fun of the insane amount of plastic surgery. Although it barely reads that way when she’s the only Trans woman we see and therefore becomes the standard depiction.

I want to officially give you a standing ovation! I'm not part of the community but I consider myself an ally and the way you explained everything is the way I've been trying to talk about these things but haven't been able to find the words. Everyone is so focused on "representation" when in reality it isn't just representation, it's portraying those characters like what they are... NORMAL HUMANS. And the stereotypes exist for a reason, right? Do flamboyant gay men exist? Of course. Do Lumberjill Lesbians exist? Sure! But that's not all there is. Oh, and another thing I hate, is when a show randomly makes someone gay (without any prior foreshadowing or anything) and then they make that character the Gay NPC where EVERYTHING revolves around them being gay and not a single scene that character is in can exist without some reference to the character's sexuality! Anyways, sorry about the mini rant. GREAT VIDEO!

I miss when South Park was funny and subversive. Everyone was truly fair game. Now it’s just partisan garbage whose only jokes are trans people or DEI.

i love the episode where Big Gay Al was denied to be a scout leader due to his sexuality, and the real predator ends up being the "straight" masc scout leader. It still holds up to this day. I have the argument quite often when Christians lose their mind over drag queens wanting to read to children, when their church leaders are more often than not grooming and abusing minors. the call is coming from inside the church!

I think the rose lie being so jarring makes sense. ultimately they break up for less than 24 hours. Rose was the first person who affirmed them after they were shamed into unfusing which is huge! I also think that Rose's validation especially as the original crystal gem leader (a role garnett heavily identifies with and is proud of) was really intrisic to her inner monologue for those 5k years.

15:13 You made a fine point until you propped up this annoying anti-cancel culture rethoric which has been grossly misused and misinterpreted in many argumental practices especially in times of the now when these issues stemming from bigotry is getting more worse. Canceling a bigot, or more or less, holding their actions hella accountable forces them to realize how much of a f*ck up they have been and seek to change, you need consequences for their nonsense or else the bigotry will still presist. Changing a bigot's mind is one thing....but no one is obligated to teach one so regulated in their bile to change, and before they change, they need to figure out how weak and pathetic they allowed their ignorances to swallow their common sense. Are you gonna change Dylann Roof's mind after slaughtering 9 people in that church when the damage has been done, or that Buffalo shooter who had a manifest? Coddling these sorts of nature does more actual harm than good and you need to focus this stance better. I don't give a rat's as$ about a bigot if they get canceled and the said bigotry still exist, it means there's those out there who aren't taking their crap and showing what consequences are. If anything, you're doing more of the canceling than you precieve others are doing with cherrypicked assessments and statistics, we need to be smarter....smart enough not to take this rambling seriously and create better arguments.

Jasper didn’t care that she had a bad relationship with lapis, she just wanted to win fights as malachite, i honestly don’t agree with the shows unlikeable characters like Ronaldo, Kevin, and onion. But if I have to pick a character that’s the most irredeemable I’d pick jasper. And I think sapphire was upset because she hated working for the diamonds as seen by the Steven bomb where blue Diamond abducts Greg and garnet/sapphire gets paranoid and sapphire thought she was free from the diamonds living on earth. So discovering pink Diamond and rose quartz were the same person she lashes out on blaming all the bad things that happened to the crystal gems on her because that’s the kind of person sapphire thought pink was.

7:50 I originally thought that too, seemed a bit easy and lazy to make Ozai a homophobe But interestingly, that had happened in history. Genghis Khan (a conquerer comparable to Ozai in power and wrath) made homosexuality totally illegal out of nowhere during his reign His reasoning was (I believe) along the lines of “the empire needs more kids”. Something to keep in mind

I would've been fine with this ship, if it had existed before the last five seconds of the show. Korra and Asami definitely had good chemistry, but it was less romantic chemistry and more best friends energy. There was nothing to suggest that they would be a couple outside of the last five seconds. If you're gonna make your character gay, then fine. But just like any relationship, it needs to be properly built up first.

I think you did a great job, but the sad thing is that... All this gets lost in the average SP str8 reactionary fan. Most of them never even mention these moments of clarity and respect when they talk about how the show is awesome with the balance, but they most certainly claim it's because of the negative portrayals and that's certainly what they are sticking with. I don't think it's a problem of the show tho, it's a social problem that no content is going to fix for us. The fact that we still evaluate shows merely by how they play gay characters to decide if it's worth or not when we don't do this to A TON of filler str8 characters or literally forced str8 sex scenes and characters with blatant political agendas speaks volumes. We never felt the need to invent a term for forced str8 sex and relationships as plot devices until they were gay and black and lesbian and trans characters. While people have always complained of bland boring shows, this is a whole new way to evaluate media and it happened with diversity incursion in mainstream media, and it is sad af.

I’d love to see an updated video, I think The Cissy really helped with transgender rep. Maybe. I’m genderfluid and that’s part of the trans umbrella but I hardly see myself as trans, so I’m not sure I can comment on it, especially since I’m clueless when it comes to certain trans issues. Still, I’d love to see an update to this.

There's a line from Big Gay Al that I remember. It was when the boys were calling a Biker Gang 'Fags' and so wrote 'Go Away Fags' on a building. Big Gay Al and Mr Slave were walking down the street and saw this and Al's reaction was incredibly realistic and kinda sad. He just said 'I thought we were past this!' I know this is just Matt and Trey showing that the boys were just mimicing adults and had no real hatred for any of the groups, they were just annoyed at the bikers
