In they UK up until the 80s few people went to college except to a college of further education to get a City and Guids, OND or ONC. The UK was a decade behind the USA in the 50s and up until the 90s. We had a bathroom even in the 50s and my parents before that but we weren't allowed to use it much except to go to the toilet and wash our hands. Only bath a week until you started secondary school and then you could take two baths a week. Then at puberty you could take three baths a week.

I'm a young Welshnan and come from one of the most deprived areas in the UK. I think that the current state of the UK is an absolute disgrace, and it's gotten the point where I actively wish to emigrate to another nation. I live on a council estate and, if you were shown images and/or footage from my neighbourhood, you'd think that it was from a third world country - which is somewhat of an insult to third world nations. I love my country, Wales, not the UK, and would never have even thought that the only way for me to make something of my life would be to leave.

Even if the alternative isn’t perfect. This video highlights one thing. The importance of voting. Everyone should vote. The only way to get a government that represents the people as a whole is if everyone votes.

Great video in lots of ways, but aren't you doing exactly what the women wanting to give away human rights in the face of bad policing with the health service? Privatisation of health will mean that people would loose their right to healthcare, and many people would be priced out of it, and socialised medicine is revered because for years it was world class. Surely that's a more valuable right than not being monitored by CCTV? Also, if billionaires weren't sitting on empty property, there would be no reason to build on the green belts and screw up our natural spaces. Some of the most beautiful places I used to enjoy as a kid are being built on or demolished, but the homes being built are too expensive for anyone poor to buy. Some of these feel like Libertarian options to social problems, and as we've seen from Liz Truss, libertarianism leeds to everyone but billionaires getting poorer.

The frustrating part of all of this is that politicians always point to a lack of funds for everything that needs to be done, but there's no shortage of funds to hire useless consultants 10x over for everything (just a coincidence those consultants work for companies owned by friends of politicians), no shortage of funds for scam contracts (looking at you PPE deal), no shortage of funds for expenses for those in government (Boris loved his £10k wallpaper), no shortage of funds for pensions/benefits to the worst UK society has to offer (yes I mean Boris Johnson, Rishi and Truss who all benefited from their acts of evil), etc. money has not been and never will be the issue. It's a lack of will, most of the time intentional. They hate us, they hate working class people and would rather see us die than support us.

You guys were a joke to me for the longest time. But now I just feel bad for you. I moved from the Netherlands to Spain so sometimes I'm complaining about how slow things go here in Spain. But in my local area we have: a new school, the shopping street is completely revamped, some new roads, a new skatepark, a new desalination plant for getting fresh water and a few more small things. And this is a small town. Yeah I'm complaining that the hospital looks a bit old and that an appointment takes like 3 or 4 weeks.... But never mind I'm happy here.

So big money interests and selfish myopic NIMBYs are out of control eh? Seems like a very familiar tale. There are legitimate times to oppose development - more fossil fuel bullshit through Native land for instance (ie DAPL or other destructive project) but not of something like a solar farm or other clearly positive step forward that has the potential to benefit everyone. That kind of nimbyism helps no one. Edit: did you just say your green party was the opposer? WTF? Are they being paid off by fossil fuels????? I'm all for conservation in all forms but I do not see how wind or solar harms the environment. There is no toxic byproduct - just the structures. I fail to see the harm. Is it because they consider them visually offensive????? Well , maybe we should be willing to make a few compromises in that area for the significant assist a green energy installation could bring. Kind of a greater good thing. Good god.
@CampGareth

The green party blocking solar farms was the most shocking part of that for me. Green electricity benefits literally everyone in the country through low cost and cleaner air, but they'd block it to save a field? Jeez guys

Hmm. Well, the empire is gone and you aren't that rich anymore. Industries went to Asia, so did the newer markets. Just a century ago, most of the world's manufacturing and technology was limited to European powers, so were most of the world's resources and markets under the influence of European powers. Then came the 1950s and it all started to wane. Some problems can't be solved by domestic policies alone.
