Hello, how do you save a station in the memories (0-9)
@Sailor914Ай бұрын
I put the same adapter on my 99 boxster. Due to the security feature on the radio the Bluetooth adapter is always powered on which caused them to last only about 6 months. I put a switch leg on the red wire on the adapter harness which powers down the Bluetooth adapter. Should last a lot longer.

Hi, I saw some of your videos on the boxter. I have a 2001 boxter S and the windows don’t go up or down. Top works. Changed the fuse and removed the immobilizer to dry it and changed the fuse because water leaked somehow inside the car and below the driver seat. Also, there is a strange noise while driving coming from the passenger door lock system. Kinda scary! Is there any video you can suggest to find a solution to that?
@branchoffice13274 ай бұрын
Hello and welcome. Thanks for following. I have not done one on the Boxster windows yet. I still intend to finish the series but took a new job and had to move my projects there. Engine is complete and ready to do the install video. That will probably be 2-3 parts them I'm going to start on the interior restoration. I know it is a ways out but hopefully there will be some content you can use. For the time being, I think you are on the right track with the immobilizer. There are quite a few good electronics repair places that do them rather quickly for a fraction of a new replacement. As I try to do I am currently working on learning how to download the memory from these so that I can do a how to but that also is far out on the schedule. again thanks for watching and stay tuned.

Hi there, i have an 97 engine out and I'm considering deleting the vaccume lines for simplicity. Is that doable? My country doesn't care much about emissions

Gave this some more thought. You definitely need a vac line to the fuel pressure regulator. There is a secondary air delete kit for removing some of it.

Far too complicated. $10 will buy you a similar device plugging into the cigarette lighter outlet. It will stream audio directly to the Becker radio, in good audio quality. It can be used for handsfree phone too.

What fuel rail did you use. I had to use one off of the 3.4l in order for the mounting holes to line up and for it to be a return type rather than a returnless fuel rail.

I understand that its not for everyone. simply trying to help viewers "see" where these are so there is a rough idea when working in the car. I have another coming where I install the compressor in the car during an engine install that may tie this together for viewers who don't see the point in this brief video. Anyway, thanks for watching and for the feedback.

I have a 2001 base Boxster that I’m rebuilding. Did you have to swap wiring harness in the car ?
@branchoffice132710 ай бұрын
yes and no. I used the wiring harness from the 99 (its going into the 99) but had to install it on the 2001 engine. There are a couple of small differences. o2 connectors are different. I installed a 99 coolant temp sensor on the 01 engine. I eliminated the intake crossover valve in the rear crossover and I had to modify the front crossover (custom silicone boots) so that I could use the crossover from the 99(it is bigger). Most things have videos on the Channel. Feel free to ask anything. I would be glad to help.
@andrehudson100010 ай бұрын
In my case, I purchased a harness that was supposed to be out of a 01 with 2.7. After I put it in my 01 I realized it was out of a 99 with a 2.5. Now I’m trying to figure out how to make it work.

My 95 blazer would start and idle fine, when i gave it gas it would spudder out, i took plenum off changed the regulator and gasket, now it wont start.
@branchoffice132710 ай бұрын
I would start with looking at the fuel pressure. what is that doing when primed? Will it start then stall with starting fluid? if so it is most likely fuel related. if not check for spark. look closely at how wires are routed. None pinched. check for spark from the coil and then at each plug. get back to me with some results and I would be glad to help.

Great video! Thanks for explaining this, I bought the same adapter and looking forward to adding this capability to my 996. One questions is this bluethoot adapter always on? Even when the ignition is off? I am just wary that this could pose a battery draw when the car is switched off.
@branchoffice1327 Жыл бұрын
I’ve never had a problem with a draw and the unit is powered through the factory radio so it would not receive power if the radio was powered down. I confirmed this by checking for Bluetooth signal with the car off and there is no signal. Thanks for watching.
@timi8888 Жыл бұрын
@@branchoffice1327 Good video, however I can confirm that the bluetooth can still be connected, even with the radio off. Unsure as to how much battery draw there is?

Hey I was wondering if I missed a video on a clutch? Can I use the 2.5 flywheel? Or do I need to use the 2.7? And if so are the splines the same on the disc?
@branchoffice1327 Жыл бұрын
No. You did not miss. I’m having technical difficulties and ECS tuning is putting the screws to me on parts (4week wait). I should be posting this weekend. As for the flywheel, I’m using the flywheel clutch and pressure plate from the 2.5 as well as the trans. More info to follow. Thanks for watching.

What’s the solution? Leave the plugs out? Seems like they would just fill again?!
@branchoffice1327 Жыл бұрын
I left them out. They are actually little one way valves that get clogged with leaves and debris. if cleaned regularly, they don't pose a problem. I bought this car a year ago and did not know about this until it was too late.
@MarkDitmer Жыл бұрын
I was wondering about doing this to my 99 boxster. Is this an option for my car?
@branchoffice1327 Жыл бұрын
yes it is. Not much to gain HP wise but the 2.5 is getting harder to come by. It seems that the 2.7 is more plentiful. My original reason for doing this is that I found a very low budget drivetrain that was a fraction of what rebuilding a 2.5 would be.

do you connect the first set of jumpers for the top down and then the other set for the top up and do you connect them all at the same time.

If referring to the jumpers used where the relay goes, there are 2 jumpers used in each operation. To open, jump pin 27 with pin 22 and also jump pin 25 to pin 23. To close, jump pin 25 to pin 22 and pin 27 to pin 23

So we've talked a bit in the forum, how confident are you on swapping that 2.7 in for the 2.5? Also where did you purchase your engine? I've got the 99 thats following you and am just torn on whether to go for a 2.5 or go for the 2.7.
@branchoffice13273 жыл бұрын
Very confident. If a problem arises, it will be a mechanical issue and nothing to do with the different engine size. For the availability and what I believe it will add to the Boxster experience, I would go with the 2.7. I would use eBay and the forums as a price guide for what’s a good price and go from there. Don’t forget marketplace. That’s where I found mine by luck. The guy was converting a Boxster and had no use for the old powertrain. Thanks for watching. I’m slowly getting around my editing learning curve and have the next two or three videos ready to go probably this week. So please stay tuned. And good luck on your project. Keep me posted I’ll be interested to see some of the decisions you make on yours.

Tools don't need to be pretty in order to work. Good job. Could that IMSB already be a replacement, ie non-original one? Didn't the originals have a groove and o-ring on the stud?

I agree. Speciality tools are what make these vehicles out of reach to a lot of people that could/would otherwise maintain them at a high level.
