Where can I get the Excalibur blade guard. I have had them in two shops I love them but can’t find them
@davidbryanwoodworksandmore3 күн бұрын
Yes they are great. Unfortunately as I stated in the video, you can’t buy them anymore new. You have to get them used. Craigslist or something else. You can get a sawstop guard that is pretty close to the same thing. They bought Excalibur so they have the saw guards now. But they are black and say sawstop.

These are super. I would love to make them as well. I'm having trouble with the price tag of the drawer slides @ $144 for the 4 drawers though. Those might be the deluxe slides.
@davidbryanwoodworksandmore3 күн бұрын
Hey I pay typically about 25 per pair with clips. That’s not too bad at all. Where are located? Maybe you can find a local supplier that sells them for better price.

I just installed the Wixey on my General 350 table saw with the Excalibur fence yesterday. I calibrated it against my calipers at 2 inches and got it set perfect . Your video made me paranoid , so I just went out to my shop to see how its accuracy was at longer distances , especially past the joint . Anyways I did not do any cuts, which would have been ideal, but I set it to 20 inches and then to 36 inches, and looking at my measuring tape at the outer tooth of my blade , it looks perfect from what I can see . Now I can sleep soundly tonight 😊

Great overview. I wish YT allowed links in comments so I could share a spreadsheet, as I got frustrated trying to calculate all my new kitchen doors I'm making for a remodel. Almost all are different sizes and I need to make about 40 of them (~200 parts to cut with the panels). You enter the rough opening, overlay on each side, any overlay adjustment desired (+/-), the rail & stile stock width and my router bit's tongue depth, as well as if any double door has a center stile option. It spits out all the required part dimensions and produces a cut list. Saved me so much time and reduced mistakes to nearly zero, with a final door dimension accurate to 1/16".

I've definitely used the same scoring pass. Something about the profile makes it prone to awful tearout-"chunk out," more like-on the corner at the edge of the quirk. That's not to mention the tearout at the miter notches, which I also cut first, before running the bead.

For me, I like the weight, and stability of the shaper . Less noise and vibration also. The adjustments are so much easier done. I have used the router before to do some doors, but once after using the shaper there is no going back for me. I can run raised panel doors all day long with no problems with the shaper. With a router, you would burn it up.. all the big boys use shapers, or high dollar big machines. And David what I have noticed is the shaper doesn't burn the wood like a fast turning router bit.

Hello. This was an exceptional elaborated presentation. I see your garage door insulation panels. Do they reduce noise? If they do , would you please instruct me to do the same thing ? Approximately how much do they cost and how much do they reduce noise ? I appreciate in advance for your input.
@davidbryanwoodworksandmore2 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes the door panels reduce noise also. I can’t say how much but it’s some. The garage door is a lot cooler in the hot summer months. That’s the real benefit. I bought them at the box store, Lowe’s. 4x8 sheets. They’re cheap. 20 bucks each. Thickness that fits in your garage door frames.

@davidbryanwoodworksandmore2 ай бұрын
The dimensions are based on your placement of the hinge and your door hole. Just put your door up to the cabinet and mark where the hinge needs to go. Then make a block that high. Everyone will have a different height for their exact job. The overlay will change depending on the job too.

Well it’s important to finish the countertop evenly if possible. It’s not always possible to finish the bottom surface though.
