Throughout human history there have been accounts of everyday people having experiences that catapult them beyond the limits of what was thought to be possible. From the multi-century lifespan of Li Ching-Yuen, the martial artist whose 256-year-long life began in 1677 and included 14 wives and over 200 children before he died in 1933, to the spontaneous healing of myriad diseases documented by the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) through 3,500 references from over 800 journals in 20 languages, the evidence clearly tells us that we’re not what we’ve been told in the past, and even more than we’ve allowed ourselves to imagine. Excerpt from Dr. Joe Dispenza's book called How to Become Supernatural.

my life before christ was death. there was no life. not true life. just conditioning and reactions to experiences. christ in me is everything. my jesus.. yes. the currency is knowing the person.. yes. and it seems no one can truly share in his sufferings unless they know that person.. are in union with him.. his heart and mind.

ha, chris is so drunk with godlove! my jesus.. mmm, love that. the gifts are the starter pack.. ha, awesome. in the passing church age there were quite a few of us who weren't taught or modeled love.. gifts, perhaps.. love, not so much. which wasn't too different from our own families in many ways, so we didn't take much notice. if more of us were able to lay our lives down in love, like chris is saying.. in the simple context of OUR FAMILIES.. i believe the world couldn't but change almost overnight 🙂

When Paul an Apostle of Christ says Abraham is our Father does he mean Abraham is our Father the same as the Father of Jesus is our Father?
@CatherineToonMD
@CatherineToonMD 13 күн бұрын
What a great question. Abraham is the father of the Jewish nation through Issac (and also the father if the Islamic nation through Ishmael). All humans were fathered by Father God in union with Christ/Holy Spirit. Being the father of faith, means that he was a patriarch through whom God was able to release blesssing to humanity simply because he found someone who would believe. I hope that helps!

When he says Union with God? Can someone share with me what that means? Does that mean like a seperation but coming to meet eachother like friends meeting and chatting over coffee? Or is it like our very make-up fuses with God so we become 1 being (we arent God with overhead like that but become part of God?).. Ive been so confused and would love help as I deconstruct false ideas of seperation from Jesus ♡♡ sorry if this is a dumb question on this chat..

Oh goodness what a brilliant question - one that Church fathers and mothers grappled with. First of all it is mysteious so we won’t fully “get it”. We know that Christ joined us to Himself before the creation of the world (2 Timothy 1:9-10; Eph. 1:4). But that doesn’t mean we become a blog with Him - there is union with distinction. So you still are a “you” and He still is a “Him”. Father, Son, and Spirit are One, but distinct personalities. The idea of being married to Christ where the 2 are one is a metaphor that Paul used. Ephesians 5:31-32 NIV 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[a] 32 This is a profound mystery-but I am talking about Christ and the church. Know that God as Father, Son, and Spirit delighted/delights so much in you that “They” joined to you to secure you before the the foundation of the world - before you were ever sent to earth. When you chose Christ back, you awakened this profound truth (Christ in you the hope of glory (Col.1:27) and have been able to experience this objective truth subjectively. This is because loved/loves you so much.The only thing they want is for you to receive that love and love yourself/others - this fulfills the commandment of God - to love as He loves (John 13:34). I have a teaching on that may help. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hNqZqL2UmbPafKs.html

An easier way to look at it instead of "Am I God?" is "There is only God" The "you" you think you are is a distinction within God. In the poetry of genesis the biting of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, this is an ancient hebrew saying of "knowledge of everything." Not something indicative of moral knowledge, but literally an ancient saying of "knowledge of everything." So eating of this fruit in Moses' writings is a way of describing when mankind (which is the hebrew word Adam, and written plurally in the first 3 chapters of Genesis) entered into the illusion of separateness from God. In modern understanding you could say it was the creation of the ego, or illusory sense of self. Notice how Adam and Eve suddenly felt ashamed of them'selves' and their nakedness? The intellect is a useful tool just like lines of latitude and longitude on a map, but they aren't real, just like the concept of time is useful but isn't real. There is only the eternal now. So the "fall of man" or "original sin" (the origin of "missing the mark") is when the mind was capable of conceiving itself as separate. The dissolution of the ego or union with God is often called enlightenment in many spiritual paths, or "union with God" in the tradition of Christianity, very common in the writings of Meister Eckhart. This is also known as "negative theology" which is more of an emphasis on reducing more and more the concepts and thoughts of God, or thoughts and concepts at all, to be totally merged with the present. This lines up with Jesus' teachings on the sermon of the mount for example when he says "take no thought for the morrow." That's the difference between "faith" being a trusting faith that everything will be OK, because how could it not? Versus "belief" where you are essentially wishing for something to be true, whether that is atheism / nihilism or that there is a God, both are wishing. Instead of, as Psalms says, "relax, let go" and know that I am God. Jesus has been quoted in several places as saying "the things I say are not of my 'self' but from the father." So he used language available to him at the time to emphasize putting aside our ego or separate sense of self. Especially when he pointed out the commandment of "Love thy neighbor as thy 'self'" Here we must be careful not to gloss over, most misunderstand this verse as "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." No no no, he's saying, "Love your neighbor as your self" Or in other words, your neighbor is YOU! As well as everything that is, as John Crowder talks about here. Jesus is even quoted in John saying "Is it not written ye are Gods?" when being challenged by the Pharisees, in the context of defending his position as a son of God. (Some will argue he said "the" son of God versus "a" son of God, that's up to the reader to interpret, and it's worth mentioning this is written in Greek although Jesus was speaking Aramaic in the actual conversation) The very name of God as written by Moses is Yod - hey - wah - hey or "I am that I am" or "to exist" or "to be." Some misunderstood or mistranslated this as "I am who I am" like (I'm not gunna tell you!) But it was written as "I am that I am" because the ancient hebrews couldn't simply write "I am." So the most correct translation of YHWH (the tetragrammaton) is "I am / to be / to exist" (it also implies future tense, embodying all of existence essentially) Note, that everything shares the name of God. You exist, I exist, the computer you're reading this on exists. Everything that is is within the name of God. The verse "Wisdom begins with fear of the Lord" is most correctly understood and translated as "Wisdom begins with reverence for existence" or reverence "to be." What a miracle any moment of life is! We take it for granted! Some misunderstand these teachings though and say "I am God." While this is a stretch of the truth, the reality is "you" (the illusory sense of separate self) doesn't exist, only God exists. And you can call it God, Brahman, the infinite intelligence etc. Taoism provides more insights on the paradox of opposites, how you can't have up without down, black without white, "self" without "other" etc. At the end of the day it's like St Paul writes in his epistles. The peace of Christ that surpasses "all mind." Go beyond thought, and live in the now! As they say "come to your senses" Personally, I find buddhism very complimentary to Christianity especially the teachings of Jesus on the sermon on the mount in staying grounded in the present. You'll find verses in the AMP bible where Jesus says "ye of little faith" to Peter sinking in the water, (Being drawn in two directions). When Jesus says "don't think about tomorrow" it's difficult unless you pray (meditate) ceaselessly as Paul writes. But Buddhism dives deeply into the mind and how to observe it, realizing you are the "witness" of your thoughts and not the thoughts themselves. For example, right now, focus on your breath and only your breath. Eventually, and very quickly, you'll notice a thought will come. But wait a minute... YOU didn't do that thought, the real you that is. You are simply the observer of that thought. Thoughts think themselves. It's when we identify with them that trouble arises. "Forgive them father, they know not what they do." Walking in the holy spirit means being grounded in the present moment, this is why people like John Crowder emphasize the "mundane." The mundane really isn't mundane, but your mind has become crusted over with concepts making things seem mundane. Instead, see the wonder in everything like GK Chesterton! "But now a great thing in the street Seems any human nod, Where shift in strange democracy The million masks of God." Lots of interesting stuff when we look past the contemporary understanding of religion by today's Church "leaders." Jesus was a fully realized being, he knew exactly who he was, and what ALL of us are. He emphasized those who have eyes to see, SEE. Those who have ears to hear, HEAR! Can we trust God so utterly in every moment we don't have to feel the need to think perpetually? Can we cease (shabbat) our striving? Can we relax, and let go, even of the concept of God? And yet it's OK if we anthropomorphize him. Why not? It's when concepts are taken too far we get the crazy evangelists of today who don't even know what they're preaching anymore. Are we spreading how to live more fully? Or are we just forcing the concept "Believe Jesus is God or eternal fire..." No wonder so many are alienated from their true nature. Jesus even said "why do you call me good?! Nobody is good but the father." When he said "I am, the way the truth and the life" this was an "I am" statement, using the name of God, the name of existence. "I am" is the way "I am" is the vine Before Abraham was born, "I am" It's all one consciousness, and it's all play as Crowder says here about God in the garden when he "came to play." In Proverbs Solomon originally wrote "play" instead of the later translation of "rejoice" because that was too playful for the church. Proverbs 8:30-31 "Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing (playing) always before Him, Rejoicing (playing) in the world, His earth, And having my delight in the sons of men." Check the NASB for the word for word translation and you'll see this is correct (or in the blue letter bible) In Hinduism they call it "Lila" or the dance of form, the "play" of form. All of life is a play. Just like music, the goal isn't to arrive at the final note as quickly as possible, it's to enjoy the melody. We say we "play" instruments, we don't "work" them. Or dancing, we're not there to arrive at the last step on the floor, life's a dance. "Heaven" or the "Kingdom of God" isn't a far off destination after death, it's right here right now as Jesus is quoted. Luke 17: 21 "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." It's within you NOW at this very moment, SEE! The angels fly because they take themselves lightly, how much more so the Lord of the angels? And remember "LORD" in the bible is the later translation of YHWH (I am, to be, to exist) so bear that in mind when reading Lord throughout scripture.

Many times, a person may be believing and hoping and standing and resting in the finished work of Christ...trusting and believing the Trinity with everything they got! It can steal your hope and faith and trust big time! It's exasperating beyond words. 😭

Is God's grace for everyone? Can someone help me understand the scripture where God talks about how He gives grace to the humble, but opposes the proud? Does this mean He doesn't give grace to the proud,, or to sinners or?? Any insights would be appreciated. Ty💝
@CatherineToonMD
@CatherineToonMD 18 күн бұрын
@@cherylwilliams4738 Yes HIs grace is for EVERYONE! Where sin increases - grace is released much more (Romans 5:20). We receive His grace when we humbly happily receive it (grateful but not entitled attitude). When we think God owes us (pride) He doesn’t reward that - that would be a poor father Fostering spoiled entitled kids. For people who think God owes them, His grace will eventually be to correct that. Pride/entitlement is bad for us. God loves ALL His kids and has grace for ALL His kids and because of that He is constantly maturing and revealing us in who we truly are - looking like Him in our flavor. I hope that helps - great question!
