The more I get to know about Alys the more she starts to become one of my favorite characters. I believe that she is a divine counselor who is wayyy more knowledgeable than others take her for. She’s this humble figure who is almost invisible to others and blends in the shadows of the castle. However she is in some way an all seeing agent who has possibly known of Daemon through the underground web of Weirwood trees. So maybe she’s known Daemon for a very long time even before he met her. Which is why she has so many specific details of his past. I don’t think she’s in it to hurt him or hinder him. But In a way help him grow as a person in a crash course of therapy. I think her end game is really helping unify and mend the realm even if she needs to help Daemon in the ways she can. I think she helped Daemon understand that ruling with an iron fist isn’t going to get him far, he needs to be well rounded in order to be respected and fear alone isn’t going to gain him loyalty among the river men

I'm with Mel on loving this episode because of the intimacy of the private conversations. I had just told my sister who watches with me that I missed the dialogue and conversations from GOT that seemed to be missing in this season of HOTD.

I usually like Charles' takes or at least understand them, but he was unbearable this episode. If he doesn't like a show/episode, that is fine. But to start off the podcast pretending he doesn't care about the episode at all and doesn't want to elaborate on his take is off-putting. It seemed like everyone else was irritated and rightfully so. It was unprofessional. I wouldn't say this was my favorite season of The Boys, but Charles' explanation for things that bothered him did not make any sense, particularly the part about MM. The way he was captured is not an "Easter egg" or the show doing what is mocks about other shows. Everything is not an "Easter egg," even though that is a popular phrase nowadays. It was simply a callback to a joke, something shows do all the time over multiple seasons. I didn't find it funny but hearing Charles nitpick about such a small detail was exhausting. I also disagree with his point about Hughie's message of not turning into monsters and remembering their humanity being shoehorned into this season. I'd argue that that was an underlining theme in each of the characters' storylines-- Hughie letting his dad go, MM realizing this is taking a toll on him physically, Starlight confronting the fact that she isn't perfect and doesn't have it figured out, Frenchie facing the pain he has caused and Kimiko confronting her lasting trauma. They were all relatable human struggles. Again, Charles doesn't have to like the season but he seems to deliberately misinterpret aspects of the show to fit his narrative. I also don't understand why he is so put off by Gen V. But you didn't need to watch that show to understand everyone was being captured in the final moments.
