The fact the Pro Art is doing either better or equal to the other cards and it's way way way smaller is actually very impressive. Who wouldn't want to get a card way smaller than any other which packs the same punch.

Gotta admit, Alien was good film on first viewing, and almost as good on second viewing. (Probably 4/5 stars.) However after that it fell off fast, and got quickly got boring. I have probably only been able to watch through it four times in total. Can't bear to drag myself through it any more. Aliens on the other hand was great on first viewing. (5/5 stars.) It remained a brilliant movie over many, many watches. Maybe seen it through completely at least ten times; lost count. Can't ask more than that. It's not really worth another watch much more, unless I got to see it in HD format.

To summarize - Intel Strengths- > DDR4 Support > Chipset Options > iGPU and Quicksync > Thunderbolt Support > Higher DDR5 Speeds > Higher Clock Speeds and Better Multi-Threading Performance Intel Weaknesses- > LGA 1700 ending support > Prices are higher(although that was at the time of making the video, now its more competitive) > High Power Consumption > Ended AVX-512 Support AMD Strengths- > Socket Longevity > Lower Power in All-Core workloads(although is less efficient in idle or low-load tasks) > Combine with RDNA 3 GPU for better Performance > More competitively priced(at the time of the video at least) > AVX-512 Support AMD Weaknesses- > Lower Core counts > Less competitive at Mid-Range > Less Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 Connectivity > Higher Motherboard prices on average > No DDR4 Support

The market you desire for chiplets already exists for semiconductor IP blocks but once a company pays for a license, I believe they can simulate the whole chip rather than a black box model. Once the power and signal interfaces are standard, a market for commodity chiplets might emerge. The real reason for chiplets is to reduce defect rates and assemble a "chip" that can exceed the reticle limits of a fab. The way this works is that every time you fab a wafer, almost every reticle step will have defects. If you are making chips at the reticle limit size, every defect creates a defective part unless you can selectively disable portions and bin it. If you are making 50 chiplets in every reticle step, a wafer sort will probably yield 48+ working chiplets, then you can assemble a "chip" that uses several chiplets to compete against monolithic designs with much lower yield. So it's a balance of yield against interposer and assembly cost.

Windows 12 as a leased OS or "Service". Windows 11 where you are the product instead of the customer? Yep, loaded Linux a few weeks ago and I'm still gaming, still writing documents, still printing 3D stuff. The only thing that changed was the OS, and for the better. It's faster! Imagine that, a free OS that works better than Windows and isn't stealing your information

It's an expected result of the undue popularisation of overclocking, I say "undue" because the modern CPUs are already very powerful and they do quite a good job of overclocking themselves within reasonable limits, and since hardware is reviewed by KZfaqrs who routinely push everything to the limits, the more extreme hardware designs are always rewarded, and conservative/reliable designs are penalised. I essentially gave up on overclocking once I realised that I'm paying for imperceptible gains with heat, noise and instability, and it's completely not worth it.

1:15:20 Yes Gordon but this XMP analogy is not a good one. It's tried tested and fairly consistently a negligible issue. This is a known issue with a noticeably short failure time and warranty is coming up. Are they all going to fry in a year leaving them with no resale value, no refunds, and a need to replace it with something that may just die again. Plus for most people we are talking about a cpu that's $1000CAD vs a couple sticks of ram for $80-200. I don't think it's reasonable to make it seem like people getting vaguely concened about their chips as freaking out over "something as innocuous as XMP settings".
@FakeGordonMahUngКүн бұрын
My point is that people have forever taken XMP on is 100% safe--but that's really not looking to be the case anymore and maybe, maybe, we can't apply the same assumptions we have from the previous, what, six generations of CPUs anymore on these chips anymore.
Well... MSI's Radeon cards were generally only comparable to the reference cards if not worse.

I take my opinion back after 1 year of use, it is terribly noisy, but the most important thing is that the diode under the keyboard stopped glowing green (but even with this I came to terms with), but after just a year of use the cooler began to make noise (clicking) and it really sucked it needs to be lubricated (but how to do this and why a laptop for 4000 usd needs to be opened after a year), but this is unrealistically difficult to do, since the cooler is located under a cable that cannot be removed at all, you also need to remove the SSD, which is tough. MSI Creator Z16P Believe me, inside he is the same as Z17HX

I don't know, Gordon is always reserved when talking about Intel problems but if it's AMD, it's always, very much an immediate response. He almost always makes valid points regardless, inconsistent caution is just less desirable than one might hope. But hey, I watch largely to hear his insights. And when he says something too far one way someone else usually brings up the good counter points. It works.

Hello, nice episode, I have a dilemma, here the components are expensive, if we are talking about AM5, if we are talking about AM4, they are relatively inexpensive and available. I was thinking about AM5 because even the powerful processors have 65W, which is ok in the current energy crisis. I currently have an old AM3+ platform with FX Bulldozer 125W 8x4 Ghz per core and I need to change it because the platform draws quite a lot of current, which translates into energy bills. As I wrote above, if the AM5 platform had a comparable price for components, I would choose this platform, but I will choose AM4 and top-shelf components, a board with a good power supply section and high sound, a processor up to 65W and 32 or 64 GHz clocked at 3600 and that is enough for me for a few years until the prices of components drop. Greetings from Poland.

@1:40:55 An external Postcode Display is EXACTLY as easy to integrate universaly as a Beeper. You just have to download the Postcode Table for your specific Mainboard. Example "4F" on MSI means "no cpu" , on Asus it means "No Ram". Very easy. Say 4€ per postcode display , MoBo manufacturers just have to implement a standard 3pin or sth plug on the MoBo.
@residentCJ2 күн бұрын
@1:05:00 why arent you running Ryzen with PBO ? Pretty sure some AMD Fanboys ask for that. Because youre saying "we run XMP because the Fans want it like that". I am VERY sure Intel also wants you to run with XMP. But to consumers they say "Thats OC without warranty".
@FakeGordonMahUngКүн бұрын
Actually, Intel says it is technically a violation of XMP but there are also no documented cases of XMP causing a warranty denial that I know of. It's really a don't ask, don't tell policy it feels like. For XMP/AMP, people really do want to see the chips paired with higher clocked RAM. Intel fans also wanted to see even higher clocked RAM set for Raptor because generally it could support higher clocks than Ryzen 7000 chips.
@keithc23902 күн бұрын
I'm afraid Gorden is way off, systems and motherboards can't ship overclocked. Intel looks better on benchmarks while other companies have been eating returns and support cost because users refuse to believe their Intel CPU could be the problem. If people want to overclock nothing is stopping them, but systems must ship in a stable state or Intel needs to start reimbursing the industry for lost profits. If you buy a K, learn how to overclock it, otherwise don't buy a K, the industry should not be punished because you feel entitled to extra performance.
@FakeGordonMahUngКүн бұрын
You've been able to buy overclocked, out of the box PCs for a long time.
