Lost 80 Lbs in nine months back in 2019 with Keto and IF. My lowest weight was 126 lbs, back to 132 lbs, managed to maintain it...until two months ago. I got calcaneus osteomyelitis from Pseudomonas bacteria , IV antibiotics for 7 weeks, I gained 20 lbs like from nowhere. Now on Cipro, it makes my glucose levels crazy despite on Keto and IF...I just don't feel ok but I have to keep Keto, I don't want to feed bacteria any carbs and I think that this is for me the only way to survive. I cannot imagine what would happen to me without Keto, even I am not losing weight for now, I am trying to get healthy and that is all that matters.

How about the extremely bitter taste of the 100% chocolate (it really is awful isn't it?) led to a surge of adrenaline which caused your liver to produce glucose🙂

Most chocolate bars or powder has lead cadmium in it and this is now the problem. Please advise and thank you Dr. Becky!

Waist to height ratio should be 0.5 so a 35" waist for a lady of 5ft would still be too much.

I work out early in the morning between 5 & 6 am, so what do you recommend for having energy for my workout if I eat before 6 and don't eat before my workout?

I often add some 100% cacao chips from Kimberton Whole Foods to some ALDI organic greek yogurt that has no added sugar. Cacao gives me polyphenols which are great and the yogurt has lots of protein and can help my gut microbiome. I always look for added sugar in food and reject it. Added sugar is no good...not really a food by definition. See Dr Lustig. Good job using the word confounding! Confounding variables mess things up! Anyway, I have dropped ab 17 lbs over last 3-4 months. The way I did this was by eating more real food and making smarter choices and having a healthier lifestyle. The weight loss is ab health really..getting metabolically healthy. You aim to get healthier and become smarter at the grocery store. You have to plan and make adjustments. Step 1...forget fast food and no packaged cookies into house. Well, there r many things but I know how to do this now. Do healthy things!

The French eat cheese AFTER their meals. I would think that the enzymes in the cheese possibly work together with the A/c vinegar... that's my guess of why they work together?🤔 So I would do 1 oz of aged cheddar then.. Great idea...👍

this will work well for some but not for me. I am a non diabetic hypoglycemic. I have to eat 3 normal meals and 3 snacks. I eat high protein low carb and lots of veggies and 1 fruit. this helps keep my blood sugar at a normal level.

There is far more to healthy than just blood sugar levels. The sugar is not good for you. 100% is definitely more healthy than those with sugar.

Here is my issue. You ate 200 calories of chocolate on an empty stomach. Do the test again with healthy levels of the good stuff first, like eggs in a fritata with veggies and meat/cheese cooked in butter. Then only have one dark chocolate truffle or piece of chocolate and you can enjoy it as desert with out a huge sugar spike. See the Glucose Goddess for more sugar hacks that allow you to eat like a human being with out the spikes. This will have people thinking they can never have popcorn or chocolate. Not science.

This was a superb video - the skin tags are supremely annoying and I figured just genetic. Now that there's a chance I can nix them, I will add extra focus to the reduction of carbs. Many thanks.

That was interesting. I think the victorians used cold bath therapy as an aid for insomnia. They would then get into a warm bed. The cold shower sounds similar to the feel good effects swimmers have after cold wild water swimming.

Hi thanks for this informative video. Lately after exercising for more than a year i noticed that exercising non stop 3 times a day -morning 30 mins, evening 30 mins and then after dinner 30 mins for a full year without breaks was wonderful in dropping my blood sugar to very good levels. It even tipped over into hypo many times which necessitated reduction in insulin units used. Then recently I'd been experiencing not so good numbers after exercising. Did some research and found that over exercising could produce cortisol and or adrenaline response which can spike the blood sugar levels. It was really a case of doing too much of a Good thing which turned bad for me. Am i right in my assessment? What should I do? Thanks.

The best way to start with cold water exposure is not directly on the head but after a warm shower start with cold water on the feet/ lower legs and after 2- 3days full leg … work slowly upwards . You will love cold exposure after every warm shower , after few weeks you will manage. cold only .!

Glad to see you both together on screen again, I try to use many of the therapies as possible, cold water therapy is only 1 of them. I also include Earthing/Grounding and light therapy. As far as cold water goes I also take a hot shower follow up with immediate switch to cold for 4 to 5 minutes.

When I did keto in 2020 (I lost weight instead of gaining during the pandemic) I lost 120 pounds in 8 months, and went from diabetic (just inched into diabetic from pre-diabetic) to not even pre-diabetic in about three months. I did a lot of keto sweets (man, those chocolate peanut butter cheesecakes were GOOD!), but almost all of them, I made myself. The only treat I bought was keto ice cream. It might work *better* without the treats, but it did work, as long as you make them yourself.
