2016 CLA 250 4matic,,,,,, So the bottom plug is for draining, and the top for refill? I don't have jack stands, wondering if Joe's garage could handle this?

Isn’t there a bolt and clip holding the CV axel into the transmission? This video is showing the 24 spindle transmission end of the axel just freely placed into the transmission with the steering knuckle side of the axel holding everything in place. That seems odd.

Dont think my 2016 CLA 45 AMG SB has had the rear diff oil changed, ever! Could this be what is causing a slight grinding / squeaking noise at low speeds from the rear left hand side.

Very similar noise to that of a brake pad grind in my opinion.

I use to be a mechanic. I work on my own car's. My suggestions is if you got spare time to play with it is not a hard job. It took me total of 3.5 hr including tuning and reset. Dealership quote me about 860AUD I brought all the parts for 648. Not included a 14mm hex and a dipstick 😮

Genuine question how do you know how far you’re going down on the dip stick? Just as it doesn’t look like you put it all the way in? Thank you

Correct... youw will hit the bottom of the pan with the measurement stick. It measure how much fluid you have from the bottom.

So with everything that needs to come out, do a spark plug change while doing the front struts/sway bar links, water pump and save multiple hours later on :D

Nice job great video. If van or any vehicle has close to or 100,000 miles I would change upper intake gaskets, fuel injectors, coils and plugs one and done. I would use dealership parts or the same company that makes the dealership parts. The goal take that cover off as little as possible. I done the plugs first to we just keep learning.

Don’t they take 0w20 for oil?
@randomcar2190
@randomcar2190 5 ай бұрын
Not an oil expert here, but best to go with recommended 5-40. I'm guessing the 0-20 might be too thin for our car. 0-20 tend to be for the more fuel efficient type of cars.

Thanks for making this video! I have a 2019 GLA 45 AMG, and, according to the MBZ spec sheet, the correct fluid is 75W-85. Mine actually has the Dynamic Plus Package, which has a limited slip differential; again, although in a different column on the spec sheet, mine also calls for 75W-85. However, I really only see the 75W-90 LS (LS standing for limited slip) on the market around here (Bay Area, CA). I see from your video that you also used 75W-90 LS (by Mobile 1). Since you did the fluid change, have you learned anything more about the appropriateness of going with 75W-90 LS over 75W-85? Thanks in advance!

This is one of those "Best to do what I say, not what I do" situations. ;) Meaning, I'm saying it is definitely best to go with what the factory says. Their engineers know more than what I know about this. I think if weight is off by a little, it is probably ok. I think the most important thing is what additives are in the fluid, or shouldn't be in the fluid. I had no difference or problems with the Mobil w/ LS.... BUT... for my most recent diff fluid change, I did end up getting the OEM fluid online (you can probably get at a dealer). It's expensive, but you don't need much of it anyway. So the cost doesn't really add up too much. In short, I just recommend going w/ OEM. Or whoever makes the fluid for MB.

Instead of having to remove the underbody panel every time to change the oil, it might be a good idea to purchase a Fumoto, or similar, oil drain valve. Some of them have a nipple that can be connected to a short segment of tube, thereby allowing for draining over the edge of the body panel. You also might need to use a Fumoto adapter/extension so that the valve protrudes out a bit. This is because the lever on the valve is on the side of the valve, and therefore might be obstructed by the well that the drain plug sits within.
